Finally persuaded myself to watch the 'highlights'. Those who did not see the game, must be wondering why most of us were pissed off! Quite how STV managed to find enough 'not quite so bad stuff' to fill 13 minutes is a bit of a mystery.
But, even more so, is that there was nothing about the flattening of Corne. We were all so busy watching the action at the EE, that I think few, if any of us saw what happened - I turned round to find Corne apparently spark out on the ground and an outbreak of handbags between half a dozen players. As no cards were given out, I suspect neither the ref or the linos saw anything either. Anyone know what happened?
I've noticed in recent seasons that the STV highlights always seem to miss out anything controversial like this. Is this some sort of NL thing, or an STV or club decision. Bit of a pain, whichever. Moments like that are still valid parts of games - and may even determine the outcome - so we should be able to see them.

According to Stones Live (now back on TuneIn) during the pre-game chat on Tuesday, the 'VAR' goal (or was it?) was originally flagged by the lino as a goal. But when he saw that the ref hadn't seen his signal (I think the ref had blown for a foul by then), he lowered his flag. It was then that the Truro players went over to him to protest - and the ref went over to see what it was about.
So, if true, then it was a goal, but the ref wasn't (initially) aware of it. Which tells you a lot about that ref - none of it very surprising to those of us who saw the game.
However, there remains one question - as asked by Chris Bechervaise of SL at the time (and unanswered) - in what way does a lino indicate that a goal has been scored?!

He runs over to the ref , takes his shirt off swinging it around his head and then gives the ref a big sloppy kiss.

Even before the truro players got to the linesman, he was pointing to the center circle (how the red signals a goal) with his non flag hand. Then he stopped and thats when the truro players went over to him followed by the ref.

What Id like to know (though it makes no difference now) is how the linesman could know the ball was over the line when his view was clearly blocked by at least two players?

I had a good view and saw that the ball had gone beyond the goalpost. Knowing that, you could tell that the ball was behind the line when it got between Andre Jr’s legs on the highlights.
Just rewatched the Ipswich match. Martin Keown said our FA Cup journey began in August - that’s not correct, is it?
