Having just seen the highlights there is no way that the linesman could be 100% sure that the ball has crossed the line.Did we deserve a draw probably not but can understand fans frustration with this decision.

Based on the highlights and the commentary, the linesman didn't give the second goal and then the ref stopped the game to give us a foul. Then because of the pressure from the Truro players he caved in and gave them a goal. Shocking officiating and complete lack of integrity from the men in black.

All valid points, but unless I’ve missed something no one has mentioned we have a keeper who hardly inspires confidence in the defence. All through preseason I have maintained that Holden was a better keeper and I saw nothing yesterday to change my mind. Also, a word about set pieces. When are we gonna realise we never score from the ridiculous love train formation. The first time we didn’t use it yesterday we scored. Finally a word about the assistant referees. One who tried to give offside from a throw in, and the other who didn’t initially give a goal that clearly looked over the line even from the main stand. Where do they dig these people up from. Agree on Andre Jr. Looked very shakey when the crosses came in. One thing against Holden, in the warm up he was very poor in his shot stopping. Lots of balls were goong through him, but he's definitely worth a look. Should of kept Harley

There are a lot of players that are not an improvement on last seasons squad. The sooner we have our unfit players back the quicker we can offload these journeymen and find players that are up to this level. George needs a hard look at his tactics on this one. The main stand had worked out it was wrong after 15 minutes. Bringing the same 11 out for the 2nd half was a shock to many.

Best shot I could get of it. This is after the ball bounced. Doesn't look over to me personally having rewatched it a 1000 times but God knows. Only thing for sure is the lino definitely didn't see it and absolutely folded under the pressure of 6 big Cornish blokes screaming at him.

Gosh. I heard and read no end of good accounts of the Stones team after the St Albans match - and now I’m hearing and reading the above… at least the experience of being a Stones fan is consistent, even if the gameplay cannot be Looking forward to my first pie of the season on Tuesday. Dave is by far the most reliably consistent part of our club. Either this is DaveU's secret second account or you're talking about a different Dave...

We were in direct line and felt the ball did cross the line. However, the lino had no clue, did not react at the time and panicked when the Truro players approached him.

Ok, it was shocking BUT we have reasons to be optimistic going forward... 1) it was our 2nd competitive game. The team will gel and improve. I'd rather performances like this happen now than at 'the business end' of the season. 2) we had key players out or coming back from injury. Higgs, Greenidge, Seaman, Andrade, Raphe, etc all either not in the squad or coming back so this won't be our starting 11 when those are fully fit 3) Sam Corne looked very poor yesterday. We know what he's capable of and he will improve. 4) Hopefully this is an early lesson for George and Craig. We looked tactically inept yesterday. You'd hope in the future we adapt earlier after what was a pretty big lesson yesterday. 5) I honestly think some players probably haven't played with this kind of atmosphere and crowd behind them. Nerves almost definitely played a part and the pressure got to them. They'll feed off it eventually (hopefully) 6) Small shoots of optimism for me: Ben Brookes can put a ball in. We can score from set pieces. Kresniqi looks very tidy on the ball (I was surprised he went off over Corne). The Genco is so much better without segregation. So how come no one is saying this about Boreham Wood, Dorking, Farnborough, Hemel, Worthing, Salisbury, Eastbourne and, God help us all, Tonbridge?

With the exception of Ipswich, 90% of discussions on here could be recycled on a permanent annual loop.
No need to start a new thread, just search for an old one on recruitment, goalkeepers, tactics, substitutions etc.
You could probably rationalise topics down to about 20 discussions, permanently locked on page one.

Ok, the result stands and our performance was poor, but highlights once again show us as victims of inept refereeing. Yes, we had completely gone to sleep in the lead up to their first goal, but the 'foul' that led to it was a classic con job that refs ought to know about by now: defender trying to hustle the forward, forward feels a faint touch on his back and promptly falls over. Yes, defenders should be more savvy about this as well, but when it is so blindingly obvious, why do refs keep falling for it? As for their second, highlights show it should never have been given. Linesman was unsighted, ref nowhere to be seen, while camera behind the goal inconclusive at best. Therefore goal should not be given, but ref bowed to pressure from Truro players who let's face it, were trying it on all afternoon. Doesn't excuse our performance or tactics, but on another day, we could easily have been wallowing in a proper shithouse win. As for our keeper, he's not the traditional type and looks a bit lightweight, but so was Lucas. What he does have is very fast reflexes and clearly wants to get the ball away quickly, so can see why George might like him. Whether he is right for this league, only time will tell. By the by, does anyone else think he looks like ex Blue Peter presenter Radzi Chingumbanya?

Worthing and EB are only a point ahead of us having also spent some decent money, so I guarantee they'll also have some disgruntled fans. Tonbridge have signed Timmy Abraham so they'll be moaning soon enough as well, don't you worry...
