Wonder how much that would cost. £20,000 to move the fence and create hard standing? Also quite a bit of shoring up I imagine. That’s quite a slope outside the fence at the genco end.

OK, imagine you are Oliver and Terry. You've got a few quid left over from the FAC money. What do you do with it?
It's not enough to do anything substantial, like making the TE the away area, but it will pay for extending the river side to its full boundary.
But then what? What does that give you, apart from tying up a rather annoying loose end? Slightly increased capacity, perhaps? But not much else.
So, what are you going to do with that expanded area? Some temporary terracing? Have you got enough left to pay for that (up to NL/FA standards)? Or perhaps seats as well? You could at least make some money back from those.
Or maybe you're thinking long-term? The new terracing has helped solve the problem of poor sight-lines for those standing on the river side when there's a big gate, but there's still the bigger problem of mixing home and away fans in the Genco. What could you do with the new area to help solve that, or perhaps even make it less of a problem this season? Could you use it in some way to hold away fans and free up the away part of the Genco for home support?
Given the makeup of the NS this season, there probably isn't going to be much need for segregated games, so that temporarily removes the Genco problem. So there's no need to do anything about away fans immediately. But, given the club's ambition to play in the NL, that problem will return, and will have to be resolved. But, with at least a season free of the 'Genco problem', and with a little bit of spare cash, maybe we could start something now that would help solve the problem (or make it less expensive to solve) when we do get promoted? But what?

Town end will be away end next season I think, walked past the river to have a nose at the fence. Doesn’t look like it’s being moved but they’re definitely clearing behind it. Would guess at a path for an exit / entrance for supports down that end.

Interesting Yeah I'd be happy with that. would give us the whole stand back and keep a huge distance between any trouble makers so would help reduce a lot of trouble inside the ground (throwing, taunting etc)

Interesting but unlikely.
If the club was planning anything that significant, surely somebody would have communicated the news to supporters.

Nothing they make a habit of... Not sure the away support problem will disappear in the new season because it was as much to do with our own fans' willy waving as anything else. Just because Yeovil and Dartford are not on the scene, doesn't mean the problem won't crop up with someone else.

I don’t mind that as long as they don’t block off access to the town end facilities for home supporters, especially the pie hut, club shop and clubhouse. Would be stupid to give away fans all the best facilities.

But we need to consider all fans, not just those in the Genco. No point solving one problem to introduce a different one.

Except that fan movement in frint of 5he Main Stand from ine end to the other is easy enough. I would have thought that all the facility premises down the town-end are fairly easily moved, they wern't exactly created to stand there for the next 50 years.
