Pickford needs to sort out his distribution or be dropped. Every aimless punt just gave the ball back to Spain. When we had the ball we were so bloody slow to do anything with it and couldn’t hang on to it for more than three passes. Contrast that with Spain’s crisp and accurate passing that had England chasing shadows for most of the game. Twice in the whole game England showed what they are capable of and both times they had Spain in trouble, but even after the equaliser they sat back, did what they always do under Southgate and allowed Spain to dictate the game. Kane has been a passenger the whole tournament and should probably retire from the national team and if we’re serious about ever winning anything Southgate needs to go as well, and the new manager needs to give the likes of Watkins and Palmer a proper run in the team, not just as substitutes when we need to make something happen. Pickford had an outstanding game and made some wonder saves to keep the scoreline down. He has a great long kick which was much needed when we were running out of time, and he can only quickly throw the ball out to a team mate to run at Spain if that team mate is in a decent position, which they rarely were. Once again Dave you are pointing the gun in the wrong direction. |

If Kane could be arsed to put in a bit of effort it might work, but surely Pickford was bright enough to realise we weren’t winning the long balls and changed his tactics. My main issues with England are Kane and Southgate but surely it isn’t too much to expect some of the others to work out when something isn’t working and change it. They were all guilty, I merely picked on Pickford because it was so obvious. |

A keeper like Pickford will continue to make great saves all the time to get us out of the mess he actually got us into. My views on Southgate have not changed,time to go. Klopp could be the next to have a go at the poisoned chalice. You heard it hear first. |
