Their home form is very good since their new manager took charge, while their away form is mid table. All bets off for local derbies of course, so who knows? George has very much set his stall out for the rest of the season: Slow and Steady wins the race, even against ten or nine. Certainly proved right at Eastbourne... At least we seem to have a Plan B or C and that was never on Hak's CV, so guess it will be more of the same - hold on to the ball, wear teams down and turn up the gas towards the end. Not pretty, but if it gets the job done, fair enough, I suppose. However, still think it would be nice to see more attacking intent early on. Score early, score another and only then invite the opposition to come at you and score some more because of the spaces this creates. Not sure this happens very often anywhere though - something to do with the other team wanting to win as well, maybe?

Think this could be one of our toughest dourest games for a while.
Hope nobody shouts at George in frustration at half time.

With some improved form from Welling and competition for play off places, this looks like its a 'Must Win' match

Difficult game to call, with the form Welling are in. But we have home advantage and are in pretty unstoppable form ourselves. With a dodgy ref, or a bit of bad luck, who knows? But I'd still expect us to win this.
Although a draw wouldn't hurt too badly, we don't need to win every game to make 3rd place before the end of the season. I'm actually more worried about Farnborough. I had that down as a fairly easy win a few weeks ago, but their form has improved dramatically since.
Of course the best option would be to just win every game!

A draw would hurt us badly jdl. This is a home game against a team in the lower half of the table. And we are def not in unstoppable form. Maybe that comment was meant as a joke ? In any event any points dropped would be really bad news at this stage of the run-in. There may be other matches coming up when a draw is acceptable, but not this one. I agree with daveu about this being a must win game.

Checking the odds at BetFred we are 3/5 firm favourites and Welling a whopping 4/1 the draw is 29/11. This means all we have to do is turn up and the points are ours .Hmm! If only it were that simple.

In any event any points dropped would be really bad news at this stage of the run-in. There may be other matches coming up when a draw is acceptable, but not this one. I agree with daveu about this being a must win game. I qualified it slightly - " pretty unstoppable form". But I do actually think we are - we have a determination and belief that wasn't there a few weeks ago. And I meant a draw wouldn't be too bad only in terms of the number of points needed to get to 3rd place by the end of the season. Before the Weston game, I estimated we needed 18 points out of the remaining 8 games - based on FWP's predicted final table at the time, which had Braintree at 3rd with 81 points. That's 5 wins and three draws. So, on my guesstimate, we're already 2 points up - therefore, in theory, a draw against Welling wouldn't be too bad. But, as you say, Welling wouldn't be the game I would chose to draw!
