Not exactly Mr Motivator. Some of the team willread this, how do you think they will respond ? I'm sure they already know the reality of the situation - probably better than we do.

Sol! What’s happened to Sol? Last we heard he was back in training and hoping to be ready to play soon. But, I'm getting confused in my old age - that might have been last season...

Sol! What’s happened to Sol? Good news is he is back soon. Bad news is that means he is weeks away from his next injury

We’ve done it in the past and had our fingers burnt. Sol, Luque and Booty were the only 2 year deals I can remember. Only Booty worked out. I don’t really know. Some decisions to make though. Will Gavin be given another year? Ibrahim Olutade was another 2 year deal we gave out that didn't work out.

Not exactly Mr Motivator. Some of the team willread this, how do you think they will respond ? Maybe slightly negative, but its realistic. They're playing at this level for a reason, most of this squad isn't good enough for the National League. If we want to actually survive in the league above, big changes will need to be made whenever we are promoted, even Jay quickly realized that after getting us promoted to the National League. Spot on Raymondo A bit premature when we are focussed on making playoffs but if we did win them of course we would need a whole new squad. It’s great Corne dog has signed but he would have to up his game to keep a regular first team place in NL and last time in NL Fowler was run ragged so our two best players are good NLS level but not solid NL. The only solid NL is Lucas but I think he will be off elsewhere. Who else from the current team could be NL standard? Maybe Mo Faal maybe Sam Bone but who else? The rest are NLS at best. But it’s more likely we will be in NLS next season so let’s not think negatively as we will need nearly all of them to sign up for another NLS season - especially Fowler Bone and Faal and for NLS I would definitely add Rushy and Reiss. Be good to keep Jephte and Jacob. Personally I like Liam Sole and Lamar Reynolds but don’t think they are on George’s long term radar and surely Gav will retire? Bentley looks good but could tail off. But first, let’s make playoffs! COYS!

Should the club focus on the injury list? It seems to me that for the second season in a row a number of the players are out injured for weeks at a time (months in some cases). Management need to analyse why this is happening, is it bad luck, player specific, or is it possibly the pitch?
I do not think that a whole new squad would be the right answer. We do not know for sure which division we will be in next season so perhaps the immediate focus should be on securing the core of the existing squad leaving budget available to recruit 5 or 6 players either to reinforce a NLS squad or better quality players to boost the squad to a level capable of a mid table NL position.
I think that the squad we have has performed well, a fantastic cup run (when the players who were available put on good shows against 4 EFL teams) and what could be a play off place (at least) in the league. The reward for many of them should be a contract for next season.

To risk stating the overstated, I am confident that we will see more players retained, albeit, not as many if we are promoted.
George has been open that he will make mistakes, we must remember this is his first full season as a manager. Nevertheless, George has built a squad (successfully) to challenge for promotion from the National League South. That was the nature of the task. As others have said, the task is very different if promotion is achieved.
From my perspective, the sense of community and unity within the club has never been stronger, particularly since we parted ways with Jay Saunders and had to redefine our identity without such a significant figure at the centre. In terms of leadership and forging a collective spirit, George is filling those massive boots.

Look what happened the last time we kept an NLS promotion winning squad for the NL! Step at a time - For now let’s continue to bask in big George’s ability to get great things from average to good NLS players in both the cup run and the league and have some fun in the playoffs with the current squad. COYS!
