Stoneslive thought Bentley had a decent game, albeit operating under the radar. Up until the last ten minutes, they were worried about Eastbourne getting an equaliser, even with just nine! They said from the start that Eastbourne would give it a go, nothing to lose etc and felt their overall play was good at moving the ball around, but lacked a cutting edge. A bit like Weston maybe? Pleased for Lamar, because he seems to be asked to do a lot defensively and therefore isn't always where his attacking skills might be more effective. Shame he can't play more when the opposition are a man or two down... George is always going on about managing players' fitness, so maybe that explains why Bivesh started in the back four? Stoneslive thought he was trying hard to get sent off in the first half too... Might have to buy a programme on Monday, if only to see how many players we have used this season. Two more new ones yesterday - the list must be getting pretty long by now.

A great result from Stones and pleased Lamar finally found his shooting boots in the league. Whatever else he does at Maidstone United, that goal at Ipswich will loop endlessly in my mind for the rest of my life.
Anyway, George out and we will get relegated and all that. Good job Dave U was here to correct the naysayers and provide sanity last summer...

Two more new ones yesterday - the list must be getting pretty long by now. Considering the result, it was a surprisingly even game, even after they went down to 9. They're a much better side than their league place suggests, and the sendings off just seemed to make them more determined. Up until our second goal we were struggling to score and it felt like one of those 1-1s that could easily turn into a 1-2 if we weren't careful. But I think that second goal gave them too much of a mountain to climb. And then Lamar came on and turned the game upside down. Overall, now the Cup saga is over, we seems to be a team that doesn't exactly inspire, but still gets the results - which is exactly what you want this end of the season, and in our position. It will be interesting to see if we can carry on grinding out results to 3rd - or even 2nd, if Chelmsford slip up. Welling aren't going to be a pushover, and Farnborough away is starting to look like it could be a season-defining game. But I think we can do it, and I'm starting to think that we won't be worrying about the H&R game too much. At least two more games after that one now!

Highlights not great in terms of camera work - far too distant. Thought the yellow card tackle, even if it was after the ball hit the ref, should have been a straight red, while as Stoneslive said at the times, the ref probably thought the two yellows amounted to more like 1.5 and 1. Their second was straight red all day long. Three great strikes from Lamar and overall, Eastbourne can have no complaints, given they were architects of their own downfall.

Thoroughly agree and it's not difficult too see why they had 6 red cards in the last 9 games

Just watched the highlights. The first tackle is poor and definite yellow. The second yellow a bit more of a tussle so maybe a shade unlucky. The straight red...what is the fella arguing about? Its knee-high and utterly dangerous.
Lamar Reynolds first two goals. 1st is superb body technique, 2nd is just a great strike. I've felt a bit frustrated with him through the season because I think he's a better player than he's shown. We've now seen that at high level Ipswich (goal and assist) and at Eastbourne. I thought he changed the game against Chelmo. More of the same please.
One question...when you score goals like that why do you not celebrate?

WTF was that? Filmed on a bloody phone?? Absolutely terrible - their goal was spectacular, but you can hardly see it. STV - come back soon!

The only reason can be that he was pissed off by George not selecting him to start the match or maybe the delay in bringing him on. In any case, not a good look.

In my fantasyland where I score a world class goal for Maidstone United and just stand there impassively while everyone else goes mental.

We are British, after all!

Better than Beckham! Weird day for Bird though, scores a wonder goal, then gets sent off... Talking of whom - did anyone else have trouble with Beard at 23 and Bird at 33? Utterly confusing!
