For an hour at least, thought we were, to put it kindly, very ordinary, other than failing to save the first pen, don’t think their keeper was required to do anything first half
If we took that kind of performance into the National League, we’d get slaughtered, had they kept 11, or even 10 on the pitch, we’d have likely been embarrassed
Welcoming set up, friendly atmosphere, loads of young kids and families, at least 3 different places to buy a cuppa, shows it can all be done

No it can't.
According to daveu the club has said the local police and Council decide how and when we segregate.
If true, it seems the authorities are far more sensible in Sussex.

By the by - what are peoples' views on Bentley? I can't say I've been too impressed so far - am I missing something?

The club has done a lot right but it doesn't mean they get everything right.
From a strangely spartan and characterless clubhouse to the shocking segregation arrangements.
Much more to like than dislike though.
Just a shame that the club appears so stubborn with some things.

Just a mention, great support for Stones today.
Cracking atmosphere.
A proper non league match enjoyed by all the visitors.
Fair play to Eastbourne though, decent club, good support, nice facilities, well run, naf manager.

Firstly, we watched George go over to introduce himself and shake hands with all of the dugout- some of the bench clearly knew him but that manager was indifferent towards him. You can lead a horse… Then, when the game started so did the hobby manager. It soon got worse when things went against him and he almost got sent off. It was if he was wishing it. The general behaviour of the Eastbourne players was a direct reflection of the manager. As is ours. My guess is the manager won’t be there for much longer. A few of their players were good, but need to be fulfilled. Their players and manager didn’t adjust to the ref at all. I think we saw what he was like and reined it in a bit. |

Not sure about this clamour for Lamar to start… think he’s been very average all season minus yesterday and Ipswich. We don’t have anyone who can really make an impact off the bench so this role could be good for all parties.

Kent police are notoriously bad in all facets. Lived in Sussex for a few years and unfortunately had to deal with the police a few times and always found them a lot more reasonable than those we have here…. Ultimately on the seg issue think it’s a combination of crap set up, crap policing strategies, crap security manager, heavy handed security firm and a large element of unsupervised idiot children. All makes for the problems we’re having. Expecting to see some sort of incident Monday, depressingly. |
