BBC News - Football Governance Bill: Legislation for independent football regulator being introduced www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68602074 So, Tracey Crouch's project finally comes before parliament. Whether any new, independent body will have enough power (and bite) to reign in the clubs and their owners remains to be seen. In the BBC article, there's a comment from West Ham, saying it is not needed, yet in the same sentence says, collectively Premier League club debt amounts to two BILLION pounds. At the moment, it doesn't directly affect Maidstone, as it only covers the top five leagues, but if it makes life in the National League fairer, by clipping the wings of certain sugar daddies, then we may eventually benefit through there being a more level playing field should we get promotion. With Premier League clubs also under investigation, something needs doing. My home town club Nottingham Forest have clearly been pissing into the wind and look very naive in thinking they could get away with living beyond their means. A four point penalty seems somewhat random though - but then aren't they all? In this case, it looks just enough to ensure legal arguments go beyond the end of the season, with nobody really knowing if they are relegated or not. Plus how many points will Everton be docked this time round? One of the first things the new Regulator might do is set up a clear sliding scale of sanctions, but with riches enabling one to buy ever more persuasive lawyers (Donald Trump the prime example), these folk can always find a way around it. Money talks, as the saying goes. It's the rich what get the pleasure and the poor what gets the blame. It's the same the whole world over. Ain't it all a f**king shame. |

They could do worse than stipulate that every club has to have it's accounts audited by the same company, set up for this purpose.

My brother can tell some stories, as he started as an auditor when he was an 'articled clerk'. Some of the things that they uncover and the lies they are told. He and his wife retired but still doing tradesmen/builders etc- the type that hand you a box of receipts....having just booked a holiday to the Bahamas or some such, with not savings left to foot the tax-bill... |

Presumably, there are people out there who collect football shirts in the same way as others have trainers, stamps or whatever. Wonder what the biggest collection and who owns it? Ok, not really. |

The néw shirt and flag motif is an insult to the few English people left living in this country. Why don't we just change the name of the country and have done with it . Before you all call me racist I don't care,I love my country and the fact that when I'm dead and gone it will slide into non existence and all of your families and their children will be hopelessly lost in a land that is no longer theirs. I have no children and I've never been more relieved of that fact.😪 |

I couldn't give a f**k about the cross but I can kind of understand those who might. To me, the furore surrounding it just highlights the wot of the country. I wonder what the motive behind this is as anyone with half a brain would know this would cause a Twitter storm with a certain section of society.
The cost of £115 when it is probably costing £2 to make it the biggest problem I have with it and the FA can go f**k themselves, money grabbing bastards.
