Crap songs are the result of premier league fans and mentality.
A few minor things from the above list, but good mainly due to well-behaved Welling fans. We tolerate mild disorder in the hope it doesn’t escalate.
Two more home league games to go. Weymouth, who have caused problems before, but a midweek game without many travelling. And Hampton & Richmond on the final Saturday who also have play off hopes.
The most noticeable thing against Welling was families standing in the Genco aisles to get a view for their kids, and also dads and sons at the front of the Town End yellow hatching until moved by a steward. Having once brought a very young child to a game, it’s a real pain finding them somewhere they can see. Would never do it again.
Giving so much capacity and associated dead space to segregating one stand contributes to a sometimes poor experience for the next generation of fans.

Hopeless bringing my young grandchildren to a match with much over 2,000 in attendance. Views are hopeless, you have to get there early, be at the front and not move for the best part of 2 hours. Not exactly family friendly. Given up now.

Exactly. I went with my brother and our kids but we had to split up in the main stand as there wasn't 4 seats together. If only there was a family friendly standing area where you could take kids, get a good view and be far enough away from the bad language.

It used to be possible to stand in front of the Town End. Wonder if it would practical to allow younger kids to stand pitch side, with yellow hatching behind them for stand access. Or a step or two along the riverside. Or stop giving nearly 50% of our best terrace to segregation and let people spread out. Maybe designate the front rows for families. All of this is fixable with a little thought and effort. But as long as 2000+ turn up, nobody in the executive area is too worried about the comfort of kids and families.

The club really should be on top of this.
No secure family friendly areas and as soon as attendances exceed 2,000, it is difficult to find front end viewing areas for kids.
Any seriously young ones like to move around a bit. The Gallager just doesn't work at this level.
No real extra income to be raised so not a priority I guess.

I tried with my kids a couple of times but it just doesnt work.
Not really family orientated at all.
Snodland fc could teach the club a thing or two in this respect.

Massive shame the club isn’t as family oriented as it used to be. Our misbehaving ‘good’ element probably benefited in years gone by and now seem insistent on creating a hostile environment which certainly doesn’t help with things. Just wish we had no arseholes, No segregation and would make things markedly better…

Removing the permanent Genco advertising/segregation barrier would sort a lot of these problems and allow everyone to spread out across the stand like we used to in the past.
Ridiculous how the stand has a capacity of 1700, but only half of it is really usable for home fans.

Nothing will improve until you stop moaning on here and start moaning at the club owners about it. I have tried but I'm one man and they didn't listen cos they don't care about us but if 100 complained they would have to listen and whether they care or not they would have to act.

If the media gantry is moving to the riverside then why not convert that area into a family friendly zone?

The Genco hooligan barrier used to be moveable. Still not ideal, but this shows the different home and away crowd density on Monday. Note also how many are standing in the stairways with kids trying to get a view. And a final thought from a Welling fan. A “prat of a Maidstone fan” in the yellow hatched area winding up away fans and a steward tells him there’s nothing he can do. On the positive side, plenty of praise on their forum for the welcome as they arrived.

Sadly football is just an excuse for feral behaviour from youngsters and this seems to be the case at most levels of the game, most grow out of it, but some won't and that's pretty sad. I was in town at the weekend visiting family, and some of the twonks on view in Week Street on Saturday made me glad I don't live there anymore. The biggest potential dividend from our cup run is in jeopardy. If the club cannot make the ground an attractive place to come to, then the opportunity to bring new supporters to the games will be lost and with them goes a valuable income stream.

Snodland fc could teach the club a thing or two in this respect. That’s not a sentence I ever thought I’d see! They also have a much better clubhouse than us unfortunately it is also Shepherd Neame but is considerably cheaper than the rip-off prices at the Shitfire lounge.

So the big question: do we want or can we afford promotion? All these issues at the ground will multiply if we go up. Money needs to be spent on players so the ground gets nothing even from the fa Cup money. Owners want to sell up and appear not to care about the supporters and future supporters. If you create an inhospitable atmosphere then the results should not surprise you. There is only one answer, in my humble and no doubt wrong opinion, DAVE U for chairman CEO player recruitment and security. Have a nice day
