Apparently the club has declared that the private box of two rows at the top of the Manchett for those who have splashed the cash to buy seats in it after the Eastbourne game won’t let anyone in wearing jeans or trainers or most crazy of all, if they are wearing Stones football shirts, and only let in those in “smart casual” dress code. Incredible class based snobbery for 2023 and what does it say of the clubs true opinion of most of its fans who wear the shirt on match days - which is they are plebs who are a class below those who own the club and pay to sit in the private box. They are happy to take their money at the club shop to buy the team shirt but not to have such pleb fans spoiling their prawn sandwiches. Is that why it’s so quiet - to refer to another thread- because the club has become a soulless snob fest lacking true personalities and an affinity with true fans? Mmmmmmm It’s always been the case that you can’t wear football shirts in the executive lounges.

Mmmmm if so they haven’t enforced it before Dave or even told anyone until last night when little posters were apparently on display spelling out what was acceptable and what wasn’t and a Maidstone United football shirt is now totally not acceptable in a Maidstone United Executive box as it’s below the standard they expect of people who want to pay to sit in the box. Aka all of the rest of the fans in the ground wearing stones football are below the standard that the owners and their guests prefer to mix with. Long gone are the days when Oliver and Terry would join the faithful in the stands, clearly! Ash out? If it’s viewed by the owners that wearing a stones shirt at a game makes you a pleb that they don’t want in their executive box maybe the Facebook loonies are right after all!

Not much chance of me taking them to either! I was expecting demands to go to Disney Land when we went to the States in the summer, but neither suggested it! (Thank God.) Just realised they've never been to the New Forest or the Isle of White, so that's an idea for a holiday this year (lot cheaper than the US!!) They wouldn't want you on the Isle of Wight ,cos you can't spell it. I know how to use commas, though!

Not quite sure what the outrage is. Something that has apparently always been a rule now has a notice on the wall.
The bigger scandal is tacky imitation football shirts made in the third world for pennies than sold to gullible fans for £50.
If you look at vintage football terrace photos, the working class men always had shirts, often with ties under their jackets.
If you’re lucky enough in life to be able to afford an executive box at Maidstone, you can afford a £20 shirt with buttons.

I wouldn't want to drink with the stuck up wankers anyway and I assume that with all their money and pretty clothes they still have to drink shit Shepherd Neame beers like the plebs.

In the early days I got a freebie in there as I used to run the community website on a voluntary basis. I had a stones shirt on, not being aware of the rules and I had to keep my jacket on and buttoned up. Personally I don’t see it as an issue as long as people know. I don’t think it’s a class/pleb thing. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect higher standards in an area where the club may be entertaining prospective sponsors or investors, and if people don’t like it then they shouldn’t use it.

Well your point is reasonable daveu, as always, but this time I don't agree with you.
YOU ARE SUCH A CONFORMIST !
Yes to standards and all that, but to bar wearing a Stones shirt of all things, at the home of Stones, I don't think so.
It's a strange one imo.

I sit immediately in front of that area, and there have been several episodes where what I've overheard has been way below the standard of behaviour I expect at a football game.
It's not what you wear that determines who you are, it's how you behave. I'd much rather have a bunch of proper fans in colours sitting above me.

A few seasons ago at Havant? I remember standing on the terraces with Terry because he was not allowed in the directors box as he was not wearing a tie. He was not happy.

And at our home game later in the season he made the Havant directors remove their ties or they weren’t getting in to our directors box in revenge 🤣

When we had our first FL away game at Southend, the bastards wouldn't let our directors in the directors box because they didn't like us being in the FL!!
For some reason, them and Darlington were very anti us, and tried quite hard to stop us going up. Where are you now, Darlington and Southend?

Sole & Aransibia were the standout players for me. I thought that Gurung was the only poor performer as he seemed off the pace. Were Eastbourne Gillingham's KSC team in disguise? Agree about Gurung. Not even sure what his role is. Surely not a DM because he can’t tackle and is pretty much a guaranteed yellow card every game. Having said that I can’t see what he gives is going forward either. I disagree. A solid regular squad player, with moments of class. Love walking past the dugouts and hearing George shouting Bee-vesh Bee-vesh.
