I have zero desire to see us sink to Hemel’s level. Disgraceful. If that’s what it takes. We’ve always been too nice on the pitch, which is fine if you are enough better than the teams around you that those tactics don’t matter. But sometimes to compete you have to be as nasty as everyone else. Are we back in NL? I thought we were in cosy easier more fun and much better than NL and more our level NLS? Apparently not.

Ultimately, it is down to poor refereeing. If we can see all the shirt pulling, arm grabbing, diving and squealing, why can't the officials? If I was a ref and got constant earache from a player, I'd give him a warning and then the next time it would be a yellow card. Same with coaching staff. Assistant refs don't do nearly enough at our level and you rarely see them flag for anything other than offside or ball out of play. It is a thankless task at times, but if we can see blatant fouls and gamesmanship, why can't they?

The new stricter regimen is the same for everyone. Some clubs will adapt better and more quickly than others. In time, everyone will get used to it.

True, but it needs the officials to apply them consistently - and they don't, because they are human. Well, some of them...

Bit of a pattern developing. We should be in the play-offs, not 12th. 6 points lost over last three games - and two reds. George needs to get a grip before this turns into a self-fullfilling trend. Statement of the bleeding obvious, but we need to score more goals. We need to hang on to leads too, obviously, but that's a lot easier when you know you can score more than one a game. Still behind George, but the most frustrating thing is you know EXACTLY what he's going to be saying in his post match interview... "...proud of the players..." "...boys worked hard..." "...tough team to play..." Etc, etc, etc. What I like about George interviews is he never complains about a budget that’s a fraction of his predecessor, or a limited squad size. He’s got the resources he’s been given and done the very best possible with them. We should be ever thankful someone of his obvious ability and pedigree has agreed to manage a small club at our level. Both he and some of the assembled squad will probably be at a higher level before long.
