Attendance:
Aldershot 2108 (inc 75 away). League average: 1982.
York 3867 (inc 663 away). League average 4770.
Maidstone 2120 (inc 437 away). League average 2181.
Gateshead ~1100 (inc ~100 away unconfirmed). League average 1267.
So only Aldershot saw a rise in attendance above average.
Subtract the cost of half a dozen police from the gate money, standing on the steps. Why don’t we get them do something for their money, like stand between opposing fans?

Interesting interview with the Barnet manager on YouTube. Seems their scouts did some homework on our penalty takers and he reckons they got them all right. Not sure about Sol's first though! Cropper, their right back, signed on loan from Grimsby recently. Did ok, but what a throw in he has. Could reach the penalty spot from not far short of half way. Small lesson for our StonesTV interviewer, methinks. Keep the questions short and open - don't feed George (or Hak) the answers, make them work. I have thought that about the post match interviews for some time.

Does anyone understand the rationale behind restricting away fan sales on match day? We’ve done this to a few clubs this season, but also lifted the restriction when away fans complained. What exactly does it achieve, apart from losing income or encouraging away fans into the home area? And no, I don’t care if the question is interpreted as an attack on our beloved owners (peace be upon them). View AttachmentYes I do understand it.. Until we develop the Town End and the Riverside End, then this is something that we will continue to hear complained about by away fans when their team are known to travel in large numbers. As once those two stands are developed then the whole of the Genco will be for away fans (probably split into 2/3 standing and 1/3 seating) We can only have 500 I think in the away end Barnet brought 437 which they had to purchase online, say we decided to announce that they could buy tickets on the day of the game and as well as the 437 who had pre booked another 300 turned up, their is no way that that amount of fans can safely fit in that away section. You take the first 63 and the rest will then start agro about being told that they could pay on the gate, therefore you limit it to online only so that you can easily manage the sales and can tell when it is sold out. Far from ideal but it is what it is as we have no other solution within our current facilities. Think back to our visit to Dorking, when we had about 1000 fans go, unless you were in the front row your view was shit and we were 4-5 deep in most places, the toilet facilities for the ladies were a disgrace and queuing for food drinks etc was terrible as there was far too many people in that end for the catering on offer. The other thing that we have for the away section is the entrance and exit is via a big stair case so again health and safety etc would not allow more than 500 I believe in that area. The other thing we can do is when teams like Wrexham, Notts County etc who travel in large numbers is give the away team two thirds of the Genco and just tell our fans to either squash up really tight in the Genco or relocate to another part of the ground (Can you imagine the uproar if we did that)..

I get what you’re saying. Makes more sense than an arbitrary police diktat. But why 5pm? Why not midnight, or 9am on match day? It does make good sense to ask away fans to buy in advance. That could be done with financial incentives. And it makes no sense when only 50 to 100 are travelling. Just open the turnstiles.

I remember back in 2019 when we played Ebbsfleet, and we ended up letting in more than 600 Ebbsfleet fans because so many turned up. The game was meant to be all ticket, but we still ended up selling tickets on the day to Ebbsfleet fans, and someone messed up and let too many people in. Ebbsfleet fans were moaning how little room there was for the actual amount of people in the section.

I used to be a religous never miss a game supporter throughout the wilderness years and for the first 3 or 4 years at the Gallagher.
My attendance dropped off due to personal circumstances yet I continued to be a season ticket holder for each of the last 4 seasons despite only ever being able to make a handful of games each season as it helped the club and I wanted to see it continue to progress.
Sadly Im not able to justify that expenditure for next season especially following this one which has left some considerable bad taste and a general sense of hopelesness and stagnation.

I didn't go - and not because I would have had to pay. 2:30 came round, I was in the middle of a job, I thought "finish this or go to the game?".
I finished the job. I've never done that before, but didn't even feel guilty about it (apart from the fact that Sword could have had my seat).
Draw your own conclusions.
I will buy a ST next season, as I can no longer stand for 2 hours, but if I were fit and young, I think I'd wait and see how it goes. This season has been the most depressing and pointless - and badly managed - I've ever been through, and it's left a bad taste that I don't think is going away soon.

If the growing number of kids hanging around this tree looking for old men to adopt them through the turnstile is any indication, you’re wrong. I’ve let in four recently. A little success and we’ll all be boasting how we stayed loyal through the worst season in recent history.

George is still very full of positivity and enthusiasm after Saturday's disappointing result.
No moaning about lack of quality, lack of tactics and lack of effort.
A really strange response really.
Surely it is so much better to be hyper critical, depressed, negative and constantly moaning, like so many of the forum contributors.

Which is why I think George is the way forward.Ive already stated he should be appointed and given a decent contract.Alas I am one of the few that think this.😪
