If Typhoo put the Tea in Britain, who put the... Not many places in Britain with a rude word in them, but Scunthorpe certainly comes out top. Not top in much else, though they did beat D&R a week ago, who won at Notts County on Saturday. They also won at Halifax and beat Maidenhead in January. One of the (very) few sides we have beaten this season, so maybe we have a chance? Will Booty be back? Hopefully. Suggestion that Sol's injury wasn't too serious, but whether George will risk him is another matter. Likewise JB-W. Which leaves us a bit short you'd think. Rafe Brown did well on Saturday, so let's hope there is no reaction for him, but please, no Alabi. Walters looked quicker and more mobile, though, like Marshall, doesn't offer height. If James plays and scores, nobody will be more pleased than me, be right now Hadler or Mersin would be a better bet up front - or simply go back to Jack on his own. We know we are going down, but a win would be a nice boost for the players and coaches, especially with that FAT game coming up soon .

I don't disagree on Alabi, who was very poor, but if Saturday is really what is available in terms of the squad, then he may well play again because we have a surfeit of small wingers it seems to me and nothing else.
It would be good to see Booty back, not only because he's good in himself but I thought Lawson was pretty awful on Saturday as well and I wonder whether he missed Booty alongside him.

Penistone and Newark(anagram) are two other rudies. As for the game ,well if we cannot beat Scunny then time to give up I'm afraid. Thankfully I think we will.

Pratt's Bottom and Badger's Mount are two more local ones, while Fawkham comes close. Grew up in Newark and never made the connection! No wonder I wear glasses...

So, 1-1 and see that Dorking at last join us in the bottom four. Several not exactly predictable results elsewhere too. Not there, not many were it seems, but how were we?

Typical relegation battle between two teams destined to finish bottom two in the league. Probably a better performance overall than Saturday but the moments of quality were few and far between.

Remarkable that we only have a single post after the game. An indication of the depths we're are plumbing?

As above, very little quality on show - Jacob Butterfield looked a cut above at various stages and you can see why he's played much higher than this. Barden was probably the best Maidstone player, with a number of good saves.
We appear to be down to the bare bones and given that situation it wasn't terrible. However, a couple struggled at this level I felt. Of the others, Josh Shonibare would be quite useful in the NLS and there is a basis of a competitive side if we were to hold on to players like Bone. Unfortunately, I imagine we will lose Barham and he will be very difficult to replace.
A point is all a little meaningless, as the drop is inevitable and it's all about next season now.

I know how much people on this forum love clutching at straws so whilst you were all tucked up in bed snoring and farting I put my insomnia to ridiculous use by trying to find you all a straw to clutch. As it stands our chance of survival has a probability rating of 4.8%,if those that have games in hand were to lose them the rating rises to 11.3%.I then factored in a 2 week whiteout if the dreaded, much forecasted beast from the east arrives and dumps shitloads of snow on us.As we have played the most games it would help us to have other teams with fixture congestion and so I moved a few games to midweek added fatigue and travelling in to the equation and our chances of survival jump to 18.4%. The only problem is we have to win some games and if we cannot beat Scunny then in my eyes the probability rating is a big fat 0%.

Can you not be a shade more posive swordy ? You rate our chances of survival anywhere from zero% to 5%. Yet there are plenty of matches and points to win. Its not over till the fat lady sings.

Perhaps you have not had a good look at our run in. The figures above are calculated by complex probability tables that make cricket's Duckworth/Lewis tables look easy. The tables I have to work from are used by the world's top mathematicians and physists and are usually spot on give or take 0.1%.Of course there is the possibility that we could win the last 11 games on the trot,I'll put the pigs on the runway in readiness to take off.As for the fat lady, she can't afford to eat anymore and looks like Victoria Beckham and if she starts singing the whole world will blame you.

Finally got round to seeing the highlights and not exactly impressed. Two very soft goals, but credit Barden for keeping us in it. All the time we remain in the Trophy, the season has a spark of life in it, but otherwise, the end can't come soon enough and with it the chance to rebuild.

Its not over till the fat lady sings. 8 of our 11 remaining games are against teams in the top half Wealdstone, Woking, Bromley, Boreham Wood, Southend, Barnet, Notts County and Chesterfield We've just had 6 very winnable games against teams down the bottom, and we came out of them games with just 3 draws. So Christ knows how people expect us to suddenly start beating the actual good teams.....we are 10 points from safety, we aren't getting out of this mess. No amount of positivity will change that.

Just as well George does the motivational team talk. Listening to some of you and they wouldn't bother to turn out.
