The penalty was soft but if Ellul hadn't been pulling the guy's shirt off then he wouldn't have dived. I think the initial offence was outside the box anyway.
Impressed by Sam Bone who looks an excellent signing.
Another poor performance by Deacon, a re-run of his showing against D&R. He constantly loses possession & gives away niggly free kicks. Maybe he has lost that bit of pace that enabled him to get past opponents.
Alabi looked like he had a point to prove & deserves to be given a chance.
Harsh result, encouraging performance but still a mountain to climb.

in the second half after we scored our first, there was only one team that looked like winning and it wasnt Wrexham, The boys put in a fantastic shift. if we want to avod the drop its time to get behind the team and ditch the negativity

But supporters are behind the team.
By negativity I guess you mean some supporters thinking that we may not escape relegation.
That's realism not negativity.
It doesn't mean that we won't be 100% backing George and the players.

A few good saves by Mersin, just feel the winner let him down. 4 yards out, center of the goal. A keeper of his size should be cleaning that up all day long. Good performance though, such a shame we didnt get a point. Tuesday is vital. I feel if we dont win, we are down. We need a strong run and it MUST start on Tuesday. We need a minimum of 7pts from the next 3 games.

George talks about tactics and belief. The biggest improvement I saw was that we played football again --- on the ground, passing and running. What a contrast to the hoof ball we have been playing this season and with the same squad. What is even more remarkable is that last season George was the biggest culprit of launching the ball at every opportunity indeed he seemed to relish doing it. I was surprised and pleased that as a manager he wants the team to use their skills and play football.

For me the key is what he said in one of his earlier interviews - that he wanted players to play their game, to do what they were good at and what they enjoyed, and not be shackled by some managerial style. That's certainly having results. Watching Christie yesterday for instance was just amazing - looked a different player. And he certainly wasn't the only one. I don't think George is the sort to have a dig, but I wondered at the time if this was a reference to Hak's style of management?

It doesn't mean that we won't be 100% backing George and the players. That chant of 'we're going down' was a bit off. The last few games under Hak, maybe, but not now, with the players giving everything they had and nearly giving Wrexham a rude awakening (we actually knocked them back off the top!). It's not what the players need to hear. Thankfully, it didn't last long and hopefully we won't be hearing it again.

Same goes for our goalkeeping situation. Whoever you prefer, one of our keepers has been injured three times this season. If I was the replacement and saw some of the social media comments, it wouldn’t exactly inspire confidence. Let’s get behind the manager, coaches, owners and every single player who pulls on a shirt to do a job for Maidstone United.

Yes, had this discussion with grandad Tim yesterday, some of the chants are just out of order even if they are supposed to be funny. Sometimes I think, take me back to Sittingbourne....

Ridiculous to ask this question after 1 league game

Had a few beers post match so not read our feedback, but we dominated that one and were the better team for 90 minutes. I don't want to say there's a conspiracy but would be elated if I was a Wrexham fan tonight to be honest. Ref was one of the worst we've had in a long time. We weren’t The best team for 90 mins. Come on now.

Same goes for the "how shit must you be" chants. Some people may think they're funny but it's not what I'd call support and it doesn't help the team.

Second half was a different story and but for an absolute shocker from the ref and a 90th minute aberration we'd have won, and deservedly so.

Biggest thing for me was the last TWO games have been against the Top two in the league and we have scored 4 goals.
Notts in their 27 league games have only conceded 25 goals Wrexham in their 26 league games have only conceded 23 goals (25 games, 21 goals prior to our game)
If we can keep scoring goals at that rate against the teams we have the next 4 weeks then I would be more confident of staying up.
I still think we are conceding too many soft goals defensive mistakes (Notts Could've scored more against as as they had THREE free headers in the middle of the box but all three headers were miles off target).
