Yep, happy enough with the performance today, especially with some decent football being played Thank goodness George has relegated the hoofball. Jack Barham MoM for me. Its been said many times, but Mersin's distribution and kicking just doesn't improve, such a shame. For such a tall keeper I wish he could dominate more in the 6 yard box, but he can't. He still had a decent game in fairness, with some good stops, but the Dragon's winner was disappointing

Not sure about the criticism of Mersin's distribution. One goal kick into touch was the only problem I saw. He goes short a lot more than Hadler does allowing us to play out from the back. Possibly could have done better with their winner, difficult to tell from the main stand.
On the game itself, they were a bloody good side who moved that ball quickly, and we did well to stay with them in the first half, and apart from the goal we probably had the better chances. Second half, an absolute howler by the ref for the penalty and I thought it was all over at that point, but we changed shape and dominated the rest of the half. Gutting to lose at the end but what a game of football. Any first timers will surely be back again after that. Man of the match, super Jack but excellent performances all round.
If we can keep up that level of performance we can surely do enough to stay up. Three pivotal games coming up and at least seven points is absolutely essential.

Sadly work meant I had to miss this one. Sounds like a pretty decent performance. But what about W's 91st minute goal ? Could/should Mersin have done better ? Don’t know why Mersin over Barden but great performance lads George is our man and bring on the Aldershot!

I believe Barden missed out last week because he had stitches in his ankle, so possibly still recovering.

Cracking game - really enjoyed that - even with the result!
We are definitely a vastly better team under George, I don't see any point in looking for a new manager at the moment, we should keep him until at least the end of the season - whatever happens. Exactly the same squad (+Bone) as under Hak, but an entirely different team.
First goal was a defensive bungle that caused Mersin to come out of his goal to clear it and then a lucky shot from distance that went into an (almost) empty net - a sort of not quite so crazy/classy version of Deacon's goal last week. But heads didn't drop, no second goal was conceded. Then a 'pen' that clearly wasn't (same as Binnom-Williams' booking earlier on - no actual contact). But still heads didn't drop and we fought on - to be rewarded by two fanastic Barham goals.
And Wrexham couldn't believe what had happened, this wasn't in the script. The fans went quiet, the players didn't know what to do, and we started playing them off the park - some of the most brilliant football I've seen at JWW. I can't really disagree with Dave's MotM, but if there was an award for subs it would be Christie's, he was on fire!
And we kept Galvin on the pitch! I hope Hak was watching, because that's how you use subs.
Their final, scrambled, goal from a corner was a kick in the goolies and gave then an undeserved (but probably inevitable) win, but this was a game few of us expected to win, so for me it was far more than I expected. This is not a relegation side.
We've still got a mountain to climb, but if George can keep this team spirit and level of performances going (which I'm sure he can), and we can win games like Aldershot, Torquay and Yeovil, we WILL stay up.

I’m all for this positivity but it’s a bit early for not looking for a new manager and give it to George.
2 games in. New manager bounce due to the positivity of a new man. Let’s see in a few games time.

Had a few beers post match so not read our feedback, but we dominated that one and were the better team for 90 minutes. I don't want to say there's a conspiracy but would be elated if I was a Wrexham fan tonight to be honest. Ref was one of the worst we've had in a long time.

Don't trust those 'feelings' JDL, they can lead you up the garden path.
Put your faith in facts, in other words points on the board.

First up, well done George (again) for a proper post match interview. The complete opposite of Hak's drivel. Proud of players and no silly finger pointing. Then the highlights. We were certainly under the cosh in the first half and their goal either freakish or candidate for goal of the season. Either way, we kept trying to play. Second half, the penalty. Completely conned the referee, because even if there was contact, it was certainly not enough to fall over. Wouldn't be surprised if players actually practice this sort of thing. Indeed, a similar incident in the first half cost JB-W a yellow card, yet the assistant was only 5 yards away. Jack then scores two very good goals, though terrible defending by Wrexham for the second, only for us to lose it in the last minute. Hard to know what to make of that. It was a good corner, low to the front post, but arguably our defence should have dealt with it. Mersin looked to be blocked off by one of their forwards and I wonder what VAR would have made of it. Whatever, the result stands, but as George rightly says, there is so much to go forward with. Let's hope he can get them buzzing again for Tuesday, because you sense that three points is now essential to kick start a recovery.
