The form table paints a fairly bleak picture for both teams over the last six games, with just four points each and goal difference the same too at -7. Barnet are 9-16, we are 7-14. Barnet's home form is W3, L3 ((9-11), while our away form is 1-1-4 (6-17), with our goals conceded away, the worst in the league... So, 0-0 draw then? Wouldn't that be nice! Resources be are stretched pretty thin and Ellul must be a doubt, while can Deacon play after his two bookings on Saturday? Given the way heads go down as soon as we concede at the moment, confidence is low, so a bit of luck would be welcome for a change too. Hope springs eternal.

My heart says we can win but my head has overruled it. Saturday was the first time I had seen anything other than highlights and the fact that I couldn't stomach watching the full game speaks volumes and trust me I have a very big stomach. There is a lot of talk of injuries which is why we need a big squad but we looked like an Isthmian Premier league squad 2nd half and that is worrying, our squad looks very ordinary at best. I thought about going on Tuesday but though its a nice enough ground I do remember having a row both outside the ground and in the clubhouse with over zealous stewards/security and I remember their food being dreadful,I have therefore decided to head to the coast for a break instead.

Barnet are no great shakes but our away form and attitude is poor.
Expecting another defeat on the road.

Weird place. All that fuss to get in, then a barn of a social club (makes the SL look positively cozy), and no vegetarian food (although they did take pity and made me a cheese sandwich - so one up on the useless bastards at Dover). The stadium itself (once you've got inside) is OK, but all the typical atmosphere of a small club in a big stadium.
I'm going for a surprise win for the Stones. I was 69 on Friday, so I've got to hope for something to look forward to...

Making a rare trip into the office today and in London anyway, so making the surprisingly long tube journey up to Barnet tonight.
Going for a tentative 2-1 based on very little at all. Alabi and Corne with the goals. Holysmokes66 to put in MOTM performance in a Kilburn pub, putting in some heavy challenges on a burger and chips before the game.

At least we scored three... Unfortunately, now have most goals conceded and worst goal difference in the NL. Too early in the season for it to be a must win on Saturday? Don't think so.

It’s still too early for that. We just need to put a organised performance together.
We are on the edge of being in crisis already even if the more sober posters knew this would probably happen.
I hope upon hope we have kept some budget behind to try and improve things.

Looks like a crazy game that could have ended seven all. Denied a couple of moderate penalty appeals, but then so were they and loads of close calls. Overall though both sides are really poor at defending. Arguable that Hadler's positioning at the free kick cost us one goal and Ellul beaten on a bouncing ball (again) resulted in their fourth. Hate mentioning these because I really like both players, but it is what happens when things don't go your way. Hoyte rightly booked for that early tackle, but looked like nasty tactics by Barnet after that to try and get him sent off, especially their player faking it in our area. Somehow, Hak and his team have to stop the rot though. We concede far too easily and it is no good scoring three goals if you let in four and we are averaging nearly three every game. It is now clear than, even if Jerome B-W and Luque were fit, we would still be leaking too many goals. We might score a few more (and be very exciting to watch), but those two key elements (holding midfielder and commanding centre back) that we hoped for at the start of the season are proving to be our biggest problem. Fixing it another matter of course, but until we do, our defence will continue to leak like a sieve.
