Thought Amo looked very lively after watching the highlights. Agreed. He is a constant threat to defences in 80 - 90% of the games he plays in and as fans, we need to show him a bit more respect than he's getting from some quarters. In our current financial situation we're lucky to have him. He will win more games for us this season. I did say he was poor after the Dartford game and I stand by that, but he would be in my starting eleven every time because he is a player who can suddenly produce that moment of brilliance that wins you a game. Players like that don't grow on trees at our level. I'd have him in the side every game - he's one of those players who can win a game almost single-handedly (no matter how 'badly' he is playing). The 'problem' with players like him, who can do incredible things at times, is that, when they aren't managing to do those incredible things all the time, they don't meet peoples' inflated expectations. Although football was ever thus... But he isn't alone. One of the things that impresses me about Hak's squad is that you can say that about several players - when everyone's fit, the team (and the bench!) picks itself.

Look it up?? Hmmm I too was wondering if we'd have won that game with fans. But I concluded, probably not. Leaving aside the fact that there is no evidence at all that fans have helped us win tight games any more than they have had exactly the opposite effect, there is certainly no guarantee that fans would have been "baying for a winner". They would more likely have been baying for several players' heads. But, bottom line, the 'best team we have seen at JWW in years' was incapapable of beating one of the worst teams seen at JWW in years, and probably would have been if we'd played all night. Why that is when we have such a talented squad and only a few days ago I was praising Hak for getting them to play as a team, is anyone's guess. But, whatever the problem is, it needs sorting out. This really IS the best squad we've had in years and it's our best chance of gettng out of the Southern Premier and back where we belong - we might have to wait years for another chance like this. Don't fúck it up, Stones. Southern Premier? JDL - a man living in his own dimension.

I would play Amaluzor in every game. He's unpredictable but that brings its own benefits. Also, he's very quick which is another outlet.
The only thing I wonder is whether he should play on the left? My main observation on Saturday was how very few crosses were delivered from the left - Seaman and Luque are both predominantly right-footed and continually cut in instead of crossing.

The only thing I wonder is whether he should play on the left? Of course he should, he's wearing the number 11 shirt!
