Well Terry Casey is a lot more positive sort of bloke than some of the forecasters on the forum
Thank goodness, even after last night's debacle, which still leaves a bad raste in my mouth

So, only two options really: 1) abandon season, 2) NL takes on government loan, grants money to clubs, pays back loan via reduced annual grants to clubs. I imagine most clubs (as per Terry's interview) would rather keep playing if they can, so the NL offer of taking on the loan is effectively going to put option 1) out of the picture. Option 2) sort of solves the problem, in that clubs get the money, but don't (technically) take on any debt. But they still have to pay the same money back as if they had taken on the debt. Will clubs, especially the less well-funded ones, be able to find that money? My gut feeling is that the desire to carry on playing will trump the worry about reduced NL grants (effectively deferred payments). But this is still going to leave most clubs with serious money problems for years to come. And for some clubs, this will still be too much - it would hit us quite hard, with our 2,000+ potential gates, but imagine if you only get a few hundred at home games... I think the majority will go for it. So, onwards and sideways - but with 3 points fewer than we should have thanks to last night's total surrender. Can we trust the NL board not to shaft us again, with the loan? Eg we get less than Dover, but have to pay back the same as or more than they do?

Depends whether Cyril Smith or Jimmy Saville were available. Rock and a hard place. Again. Still sounds like Saturday's match v St Alban's is on. Given they are probably at least twice as effective at playing like Braintree did last night - with more pace and flair too, then it could be time to hide behind the sofa.

"He said: “The hardest thing about that is the lads who are not being paid or are on short- term contracts. They are the ones thinking, ‘what happens to me?’ The contracted players know that as a minimum they will get furloughed."Presumably, if Chester are using unpaid players, so are we? If so, are they completely 'unpaid' or do they get a match fee or 'expences' (like in the old days)?

Excellent! I love the way they accept whilst still making the point about the corrupt way the last lot of money was distributed. Very well written letter.
