With the drop in income due to lower gates, and (I assume) the owners still trying to balance the books from last season, there simply isn't the money available to bring a decent striker in to save our play-off bacon. Lucky loans are the best we can hope for. That’s one way to look at it. Another way could be that it’s a month long loan, he has the chance to stake his claim. Mean time, the club can scout a player on higher wages and actually make an informed decision rather than rushing in.

I see his contract is up with Doncaster at the end of the season, so at a guess id say they're giving him the chance to potentially find a new club for next season.

What is also shows is what a very poor signing Olutade has been for the club. His record at L'head has been excellent but his time with the Stones has been a waste of time. John Still has said more than once how important character is in a player. Olutade has some talent but what a waste of space. Whatever character he has he can keep to himself.
Anyhow let's hope the new loan signing turns out to be a good-un.

But he's never been given a chance?

All we have been told is he was late repeatedly for meetings, along with two others. That may not be acceptable but is hardly a major character flaw. More to the point is he can be successful at another club under a different management but not here so surely any question marks about that should be aimed at this clubs management as much as at the player? I wish him well. It seems our management struggles with strikers - Edwards, Embery, Olutade so maybe he’s better joining Leatherhead permanently!

Some players flourish under different managers, sometimes it's the environment style of play man management style or sometimes just personalities. Yes we have had trouble with strikers they are key components to winning games of football, yes your keeper and defence can keep a clean sheet but if you're not scoring goals you're not going to win games. Strikers who score regularly are in high demand by teams at all levels, i was hopeful that i would have had a chance to see what olutade can do as he scored goals at a lower level however our management saw something in him to sign him but have not seen something to give him a chance. I still think we have a player in embury but he seems a bit injury prone, is this in part to the 3g pitch, who knows, but you can see the lad has talent when he's around goal he has his head up and knows where the goal is and tries to place the ball into the goal rather than the ol whack and hope. When Dartford played us in the Kent cup on the Tuesday night i thought sheringham was a class above however, he has now been loaned out by Dartford, also at Dartford romain has bagged a few goals this season where with us he could barely hit the target let alone score, different team, style surroundings.

Trying to second guess why certain players don't play is pointless really. People have opinions but unless you are in the loop with the management you will never know. We had the same with Richards. Everyone saying he wasn't given a fair chance but four different management teams only ever gave him a bit part in the team. Saunders then took him to Margate and still didn't use him, so whatever people's opinions on here, there was clearly something about him that held him back, but what it was only his managers and coaches will ever know.

Who from the academy players have done the business in the first team ?

Something has obviously changed with Olutade since he signed because I remember reading John Still wanted players like him “banging down the gates to play”. Some Leatherhead fans have commented on his good attitude so perhaps he just doesn’t get on with the philosophy hence limited game time

He has done ok at L'head, looking good and scoring goals at a lower level, not surprising their supporters like him. At Stones he has turned out to be a dud, can't even be bothered to clock in on time. Hasn't impressed at all in training, his one full outing in the first team was shocking and doesn't hardly get off the bench now. There's a reason he's been loaned out again, we've def seen the last of him in Black and Amber.

No one has mentioned that Olutade is on a 2 year contract with us. Are Leatherhead paying his wages or are we topping them up while he plays for them? We must have rated him highly at the start of the season, he has done very well whilst out on loan. We do not know how good he is as he has hardly played for us. You cannot judge by his rare 10 min cameo performances although he did get a penalty in an early away performance. Unfortunately he was so keen to score he refused to give up the ball - and missed the penalty incurring the roth of JS. Crouchie says all good strikers are selfish so perhaps he should not be condemned for that.

Got to admit I got all excited when I heard we had signed a new striker from Doncaster until I found out they signed him from Ashford, not so excited now. Corne came from Ashford.

But Corne was good before Ashford. But has once again disappeared from the team sheet.

In fairness to Sam Corne, he came on after 30 minutes and had a decent game. Easily our best midfielder. Temelci below par today and Khan just didn't turn up.
