Despite plenty of post in this forum backing the importance of the FA Trophy, I see a facebook poll of Stones supporters prefer the achievement of remaining in the National League over a Wembley appearance by a ratio of 3-1. I have to agree, however unlikely the prospect. The trouble with a poll is the two options are mutually exclusive. It's a difficult choice because how many times are we going to be this close to a Wembley final. If I had to choose I guess it would be staying up, but only if next season can be a bit more enjoyable. If it's going to be as attritional as this one I'll take relegation and a Wembley final.

Can only agree. Not only are Stones no fun in the league this season, few if any of the other teams are either and overall the standard of football is poor. The only entertaining games have been in the cups and while the fact we have won most of them is more than relevant, teams that have beaten us rarely did it on quality football because they knew they only had to defend and wait for us to make mistakes - which we duly obliged. After weeks of trying to avoid the 'must win' games scenario, it is now just that. Unless of course we are planning to leave it to getting nine wins on the bounce at the end of the season. It's all getting a bit like Brexit. And that is no fun either.

The other games that matter tomorrow:
AFC Fylde v Chesterfield FC Halifax Town v Aldershot Town Havant & Waterlooville v Wrexham Leyton Orient v Maidenhead United Salford City v Dover Athletic Eastleigh v Braintree Town
We need a draw at least at Bromley, or better still, really a win - and again Tuesday - if we've any chance of kick starting The Great Escape.
But with these fixtures, we at least stand a chance of the other results going in our favour. On form, all the other bottom eight should lose, apart from Halifax. A draw there would probably be the best result, but a Halifax win wouldn't be too bad - they're the side we're least likely to be able to catch, and we need Aldershot to keep losing.
But, as this is football, we all know that the actual results will be nothing like that!

We're relegated.
Due to our terrible goal difference we're effectively 10 points from safety.....we ain't turning that round.

Appointment of Wheeler was the nail in the coffin, but we’ve not seen anything today at bromley at least the team is any better. Ah wel!
