Was only able to catch up with the game from the first goal onwards, and SL never mentioned once that we'd had someone sent off - only mentioned right at the bloody end!! Their verdict was that, although we'd held on fairly desperately (said it reminded them of Aldershot), we'd played some decent football. Also said that Harry had said "route one", but the conditions dictated that we couldn't play like that. So, does that mean we played decent football because we couldn't do what Harry wanted - or did he change strategy because of the conditions? Ffs at least playing the majority of the game with ten men in crap conditions shows some fight and backbone Indeed. Did I say it didn't?

So he adapts the style of play today to the conditions most people would consider that a sign of good management which was something Saunders really struggled with

That's two tough away matches and only conceded two goals. Good start for the new keeper. Good to see Harry rotating the squad, keeping players alert, the opposition guessing and mixing ideas. Having seen the Barrow performance on the highlights I thought we were unlucky not to come away with something there. This cup game was a bit of a distraction but high-flying Woking seem to have been fairly easily tamed. In Harry we trust.

We were hopelessly inept 1st half but showed a little bit of promise in the second half but overall still disappointing with plenty of long and high balls to nobody in particular. We were lucky to get away with a draw but need to play much better on Tuesday.

Just got home soaking wet had to laugh an the local youths who wanted to fight anyone on the way back to the car-park, bless them as soon as someone went towards them they run off. Muldoon deserved to be sent off reckless tackle when already on a yellow was stupid an just added pressure on his team mates. Good not to lose so onwards to Tuesday night, despite the weather was a tad disappointed with the turnout.

Surprised that everyone is missing the elephant in the room!
Muldoon was signed under the previous regime, so our failure to progress in this competition has to be laid clearly at the feet of Saunders.
I'm sure Harry will point that out if he's ever allowed in front of a microphone again.

I have had a few hours to think about today's performance and to be perfectly honest we struggled against a team from a lower league. I reckon Woking had about 65% possession and at least twice as many goalscoring opportunities. I have heard people say that Muldoon didn't deserve the second booking but they are talking bullocks if anything it should have been a straight red. Romaine was too isolated and Cassidy ran his heart out as per usual but to no avail. MCLENNAN got turned inside out on several occasions but still managed to have a half decent game. Worker once again kept us in the game but his distribution was abysmal. Very little in midfield but Shields took his goal well. Then all we needed was to concentrate for 20minutes and not concede but I don't think we even managed 2. In all honesty I think the only thing worse than Maidstone was the weather.

I saw this slightly differently.
Yes we continued to struggle but thought we successfully dragged Woking down to our level of ineptitude. For a top of their table side - only 3 places from us in the pyramid - they weren't very good.
Muldoon's second was to my mind clearly a yellow but I thought the first might have been unlucky. But, having already been booked, the challenge just before halftime was stupid.
Worner apparently missed that it was lashing it down with a strong wind across the pitch and, perhaps thought he was playing rugby, found touch repeatedly from his kicks.
Thought Romain looked our best chance of scoring and was surprised he got taken off. But, once again, what do I know?
At halftime if someone had said we'd score first and not lose I'd have taken that.
To summarise for me: team selection - incomprehensible (and perhaps a bit petty with 2 centrebacks on the bench but 'none' on the pitch) performance - poor but dogged result - surprising optimism for replay? - not high

That being so, have to wonder why Woking didn't win. Poor Maidstone side, ten men for an hour, got away with a draw. Presumably, must have done something right, or Woking not much cop either?

Actually I am going to surprise everybody here including myself and say that I saw something in the second half that I haven't seen for a long time and that was a desire to win,the fact that we didn't is neither here or there but when Shields scored it was as if he done it for us the supporters as well as the team,it was almost as if he knew what WE are ring through and he wanted to put that right and so I think we will turn them over on Tuesday.

A VERY humble post match interview with Tristan Lewis! Normally, players and management say they never read what the papers or social media say, but clearly not the case here. Repeated references to it being a difficult week, that hoofball has not worked, dropping Paxman not worked etc etc. Harry has clearly decided, or been told, to keep a low profile, though if he has any sense, he is going to have to come clean eventually, as people have long memories round here. Good to hear from Jake Cassidy too, who always appears a decent bloke, so positive to see he wants to stay. Given the right support, you have to think that once Turgott returns, we could have a very potent forward line. We can only wonder what was said behind the scenes, but I sense there was probably more than a bit of Bill's influence. Decent people like him do not stand by idly and let shit be thrown around. Either way, we are very much at a watershed. Win the next two games and we might just kick on. Lose them and I wouldn't be surprised to find us needing a new manager after Christmas. Having assembled a decent squad of players, it would be good to see them succeed. TL seems to care, they players seem to care. Does Harry? Let's hope so.
