You were not in line, Phillips did not launch himself, it was a perfectly good tackle and the ref got it wrong. Strange that every post on this subject disagrees with you. What does that tell you ?

OK, Nick. Where was I standing then?
It tells me that two people disagree with me. So far it is you and one other that disagree with me and a qualified ref

Yes, spot on sennockian, nws is wrong, wrong, wrong. It would help if he knew where he was standing without having to ask. Although in fairness I understand he is only an occasional visitor to our beloved stadium. Good to have the judgement of this incident confirmed by Plastic Passion which has the only match report that really matters, stating that Phillips was booked for "absolutely f--k all".

Interesting that the NLP MOM is George McLennon - good choice IMHO. Let's hear it for George, fulfilling his huge potential & overcoming problems that life throws at you …..

The ref generally had a good game except for a spell at the end of the first half when he got everything badly wrong..

Really felt sorry for Phillips as it was an undeserved booking and meant Harry had to substitute him second half as Wrexham were targeting him. You could see how disappointed he was when he went off. He was having a great game.

Since he,s come back into the team he seems to get better each game, very confident player. Lets hope he continues to improve.

Sensible decision from Harry re Michael Phillips, so hopefully he should be back next week. With McClelland, we suddenly have two new full backs that meet the standards of the NLP. There is also flexibility in the back line, with Finney comfortable at full back and Swayne coming into the centre back. Had only been wondering who the big guy was while he was warming up on the touchline. Certainly did nothing wrong, second half. As for any suggestions that Phillips yellow card was deserved, I prefer to stay away from such spats, there are better ways to spend my time. The highlights should help prove things, though the camera is on the far side of the ground and those of us near the action on the Riverside could see there was nothing at all wrong with his tackle. Hopefully, like the Beast from the East, it will all amount to nothing.

Whilst I agree about the highlights people around me, on the riverside of the pitch, suggested that the tackle could have been a straight red. Didn't have a clear view myself but it would appear to be all about perceptions.

FFS..... The team plays one of the top sides in this league and manage to not only hold them to a draw but seemed unlucky in dropping 2 points and all we can do is argue who,s right an who,s wrong over a tackle. He got booked so nothing we can say or do will change that. So let,s enjoy our performance.

As I said, its all about perceptions.

Unlucky?? That was one of the luckiest goals I've ever seen! Not sure it was even on target before the deflection. How many actual shots on goal did they have? I can't remember more than two or three in the whole game. Smith had nothing to do for most of the game. I wasn't as impressed with them as everyone else seems to be, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't go up, but if they do, yesterday's point could turn out to be very lucky indeed.

I can only repeat, that ten yards away, Phillips got the ball cleanly, was nowhere near their man and it was a completely fair tackle. What it looked like from other perspectives is in the eyes of the beholders, but where I was standing: foul, no;yellow card, never; red card - you must be joking!

I meant that WE were unlucky to drop 2 points not Wrexham, they are a very average side, personally I think they will collapse again an miss out on yet another chance of promotion.
