Seeing as the last thread of this description is as out of date as my fashion sense I thought it best to start a new one. As I write this we are 84 hours,6minutes and a handful of seconds away from playing the current league leaders Wrexham. They will have come a long way by kick-off but it remains to be seen just how far we as a team have come in the last 4 weeks. This time last month I rated our chances of beating them about the same as nws being interesting but recent performances suggest we have a chance and with the bookies offering 16/5 on a Maidstone win it might just be worth sticking a tenner on .

I like the other one. If we did it for every opponent, we'd soon realise we talk the same old shit year after year after year. Anyway, going to be a tough one. Potential dull defensive 0-0.

I reckon a 10-0 win for the Stones is more likely than nws being interesting. OK, maybe neither is ever going to happen. But it should be a close game, with only 1 goal in it, hopefully in favour of the home team.

Well done Sword for re starting the Wrexham thread, which had long morphed into something vague and rambling, as tends to happen to most of them. The outcome depends on which team(s) turn up. Start like we did against Mac and whatever Harry says at half time will only be damage limitation. Play like we did in the second half (for the whole game, this time) and we have a good chance. Expect Wrexham to shackle Turgott, though he does possess that bit of magic to score even when chances are limited. More chances for Cassidy and Romaine therefore? Would be good to see both score, especially if neither were disallowed. At the moment, I would trade defeats in the next two away games for successive wins at home in the League and a third in the Cup. Be great to see the Gallagher rocking on a regular basis again. Winning them all would be even better of course. By the by, presume the current blank weekend in December is FA Trophy?

Just seen one of those away games is Havant, so must be a must win. Of course.

And having just checked back, our last league win at home was 18th August, 1-0 v Barrow. So, almost 100 years ago. Time we won again.
