Just days now until kick-off, really hoping we can hit the ground running this season, baking hot day forecast, going 2-1 with 2200 in attendance.

Can't see us winning this one. After their disappointing season last year, Pools will be chucking everything at it to ensure they don't end up like Wrexham enduring a long stay in this league. 2-2 with 1895 attending.

2-1, with 2,536
But, alas, not me, as I'll be listening to it on a beach in Croatia.
And, bizarrely, wishing I was at the game...

Neither Hartlepool or us have spent much (if anything fee wise) on transfers, but our purchases have come from higher ranked clubs, so hopefully we'll be able to start off with three points.
2-1 and 2,362 people who haven't booked an early August holiday.

I think some of your attendance predictions are a tad optimistic. Still the middle of the holiday season, and it looks like we've sold less season tickets this year*. I think we'll be lucky to break the 2000 barrier on Saturday unless Pools travel in numbers.
* Based in the number of people I've heard saying they weren't renewing and the fact that not all main stand season ticket holders took up the option to renew.

Well I shall be negotiating the Furka pass and generally trying not to fall off the side.
Given that we smashed Forest it will be 3-0 to Stones. I don't approve of Hartlepool, as I don't like animal cruelty

Strictly speaking Mrs JDL booked it - although oddly I seem to be paying for it. My wife tells me we discussed this, but obviously l forgot. Just got here - overnight sleeper from Budapest. An interesting experience - especially when six lads got on at Zagreb at 2am and took the compartment next to ours, and spent two hours discussing its merits and deciding who slept where...

Blimey Dave, why so negative? I thought it was against forum rules to say anything other than a crushing Stones victory is likely.

bit of a unusual comment from daveu who is traditionally inclined to be on the optimistic side (and then some more) Hartlepool will be pressing for a place in the play-offs and rightly so. for sure we can expect a tough match on Saturday but I'm going for a 2-1 home win attendance may be a shade disappointing at around 1950, helped by about 200+ away fans.

Interesting comments today from Turgott who reckons we only saw 50% of his potential last season.
Nothing like building up expectations.
Still confidence is high and that's got to be good.
Also Coker not out for so long as rumoured with suggestions he could be considered for Saturday. More good news.
Jay confesses to feeling the strain of poor results and some criticism last season. Believes it will strengthen him as a manager. Said his aim was to produce a younger team with 'more legs' for 18/19.
imo he has achieved exactly that although still think another quality centre back wouldn't go amiss.

Every year good players become available as league clubs let players they want to keep long term go out on loan So no panic from me
