Whilst I understand that these per season games help with fitness and the team time to gel as a unit I do think we should set ourselves stronger challenges.

Somewhere exotic to counterbalance the grim places visited during the season

Hopefully these fixtures being on Tuesdays are being used just for a leg stretch.
Ideally we should at least try and test ourselves against league 2 or above second string sides rather than a few divisions below to give the squad a real test.

Just seen Dartford have Millwall, Southend and Gillingham pre season. Not a bad selection

Who chooses the friendliest? Is it the manager or the board? We need to be playing higher opposition. What are we learning when we play lower sides most of the time? Let’s get a few league opposition games.

Expect VCD & Ashford to be announced next.....we seem to play the same teams every pre-season.

Maybe teams don't want to play us. In previous years our high profile friendlies have been Leyton Orient, Dagenham & Redbridge and Barnet. Perhaps we are seen as a jinx by some club's.

You don't generally play teams in the same division so none of those are available this year. Maybe Southend or Colchester would be options, or as someone else mentioned, Millwall or Charlton. However we shouldn't moan about the likes of Sevenoaks, Bearsted etc, as we are their high profile friendly.

Don’t mind playing one or two of the smaller teams but we need to test ourselves against higher opposition and if we played against these higher ranked teams at home then I’m sure we would also get a good crowd which means more money for the club.

Funny how the Palace one turned out - big excitement and a record crowd despite the "let-down" of it just being the U23s... but then we end up signing 2 of them and very good signings they look, too.
