So, after all the anticipation on this Forum and in the club house. It would seem that Jay has signed some good? players to keep us in the league again this year - all be it on loan until March in 2 cases. How come there has been no reaction , or at least, some decent discussion on the signings ?? Only reply to Take 2 if you have any serious thoughts please. COYS Probably because the normal culprits can find nothing to criticise ?

Giving an opinion as everyone else seems to doesn't make you a bad supporters. Too many people wear black & Amber tinted glasses sometimes. Some people are "know all" and only their point of views seem to matters.

I'm not sure if Jay will discard anyone. Obviously some money has been and has had to have been put in to strengthen team to keep us in this league. Jay has said that after a few injuries that there has no back up players so perhaps most of players will be retained ? I think that it may be time now to just hold fire for a few seasons and just try to stay put so that the owners can take a financial breath and then move us up to the Football League again - which will happen sooner or later !? COYs. Common sense prevails unlike on the supporters page on facebook, some one on there believes are owners are " a tight fisted bunch of c****s " hows that for gratitude. Having said that they appear to be young and allegedly Man Utd supporters.

My reaction is relief that we should finally be seeing the end of the 'mid-season collapse', and once again start to enjoy our football. But... We are still just plastering over the cracks. You don't build for the future by getting in emergency loans to avoid relegation each season. Two seasons in a row we've had to do the same thing - first season you can forgive, as I think the reality of the NL came as a bit of a shock to us all, but the same again the following season? Just bad luck, or lessons not learnt? No doubt most of these signing will turn out to be the usual inspired deals that we almost expect Jay to pull off these days, and some will be persuaded to stay at the end of the season. Jay will then bring in a few new players and build his new squad round the core of the successful 'great escape' team from this season (sound familiar?). But what if the same thing happens again? Another cracking start, another 'mid-season' collapse, yet more emergency loans... This isn't consolidation and building for the future, this is groundhog day. Next season we need to give Jay a better budget ( after all, we DO have the resources). I'm not talking Ricay-style spunking silly money on faded 'stars', or challenging for the play-offs, but enough to enable Jay to get decent long-term prospects in, and build a decent, sustainable squad round them. Then, hopefully, we won't be having this discussion yet again this time next season... Integrating new players successfully isn't always immediate. Remember Solihull Moors away last season?
I'm apparently not as closely linked to positive results as some people for my enjoyment of supporting the Stones.
The question of playing budget has been discussed at length elsewhere however, repeating a view - with capital emphasis - on different threads doesn't necessarily make it true.
In what way am I claiming it is true? Surely all posts on here are but opinions? (As certain of our posters have argued endlessly!) It is a point that I think is critical to our survival and progress, so, if it's OK, with you, I will keep on making it.

Interesting signing but with Finney back, I wonder who will now be loaned out.

Interesting signing but with Finney back, I wonder who will now be loaned out. Magnus would be my guess. Hare provides cover for Seth at right back and Wynter has been player of the season so far imo. Don't see us terminating any loans either.
