I have heard the club are struggling with ticket sales for the Orient game and I have no doubt that if this game was not ticketed the attendance will be much higher. If the club has been asked to make the game all ticket I think we need to introduce an online ticketing system which enables fans to buy tickets online where they can either print the tickets or they get delivered through the post. We seem to be one of the only clubs who don’t have an online ticketing system when it comes to ticket only games.

Not sure they're struggling with this one at all. Oliver tweeted on 20 December that (including season tickets) almost 3000 tickets have gone For the Saturday before Christmas, when most men carry out their shopping this is pretty good

I wonder why the Orient match tickets are not available online? I guess to prevent away fans getting tickets in the home end

Not very likely as Orient have not sold out their allocation. It must be possible when buying a ticket from a computer to specify home or away. Then just slide that big black tarpaulin across to accommodate the required number of fans.

I think dave is looking at it from the time the decision was made - which was without the benefit of the hindsight that Orient have not sold out their allocation.

With the benefit of hindsight, there has never been a moment when Orient had sold out their allocation. If they did, just move the tarpaulin over and keep selling until the stadium is full.

Then just slide that big black tarpaulin across to accommodate the required number of fans. All that does is nullify segregation. The Ebbsfleet play off final showed that, even going with a face to face inquisition, people will dissemble (that's another way of saying lie) to get tickets.
Were there to be trouble at the game and there were away fans in the home area - and I'm not allocating blame for this hypothetical trouble - how well does the club come out of it saying that, whilst acknowledging the game should be segregated they relied on individuals ticking an online box as the only method for determining what tickets these 'anonymous' buyers could get?
No segregation system can be expected to be fool proof but its pretty foolish to provide a signposted route to bypass it. Especially so as this was - and still may be - expected to be one of the largest away crowds this season.
Having said that we've been to a number of grounds this season where buying tickets for the away 'end' online has been encouraged with no checks.

Do you really think there are hordes of Leyton Orient hooligans trying to bypass segregation in order to attack the home section?
