Forest green going to be pressing for second now. Which makes that a game they won't be taking their foot off the gas. Hopefully decided by the time we play lincoln

History suggests that it's a dangerous tie facing a team buoyed with confidence by the success of making the play-offs. FGR & Tranmere would both be better served finishing 3rd & facing Dagenham

The worse news could be the injury to Lewis. Let's hope it isn't serious.

just listened to Jay's post match interview not too downhearted with the team's performance overall more concerned about the injury to Stuart Lewis than anything else apparently his foot is in an ice bucket at the moment unhappy with the amateurish goals that were gifted to the opposition through poor defending 'groundhog day re-visited' - seems like we have heard that particular point time and time again this season

Agree the injury to Lewis did not look good when he hobbled off towards the end of game and would be surprised if he recovers in time for Wrexham or Boreham Wood games. Unfortunately our midfield which had been so strong in last nine games had an off night.

Is Mccarthy still with us? He hasn't even been on bench lately which I find surprising or is he injured?

Difficult to see as it was at the opposite end to where Stones fans were but hobbled away from penalty area after penalty awarded. Carried on for a short while but was obviously in difficulty and was then substituted. Just hope it's not as bad as it looked.

In his interview Jay said Seth fell onto Lewis when giving away penalty. He said Lewis has turned his ankle

according to Jay Saunders it was another soft penalty - we seemed to have gifted quite a few this season he wasn't too impressed with Lokko's effort at defending the first goal either Jay knows better than anybody that individual errors has cost the team a shedload of goals this season

Jay has sorted out the main weakness this season which was the midfield. Hopefully Jay will now sort out our next weak link which is our defence. We just can't keep clean sheets. Our defence has improved in the last few months but I think that's because they have had to up their game because we have signed reinforcements. I'm not a coyle fan as not sure what he brings to the team and I'm hoping we go out in the summer and sign 2 experienced defenders at this level. I want to see Magnus given a go and see if he can organise the defence.

My first game this year - brought a bloody curse with me didn't I !
A couple of things struck me - firstly our defence still has zero confidence. The number of first touches that weren't controlled were extra-ordinary. And the back four have such little confidence that they constantly played the ball back to Worgan to distribute. He had way more touches than most keepers in a normal game.
Secondly, when pressing forward, whenever the ball was played to the wing-back/full-backs, it was played BEHIND our receiving player - this meant that every attack lost pace and distance. And, frankly, any momentum.
So a very sloppy first goal....then we held on to half time. After half time we certainly didn't deserve to nick a point but the more the game went on, you suddenly wondered if we were going to do a smash and grab. But then they got the penalty, maybe soft but I was too far away. Then a loss of concentration all round for the third. I hope goal difference doesn't come back to haunt us.
2-0 would have been fair. For us to have got anything out of the game would have been an injustice to Macclesfield. They have Woking and Solihull in their next two games and if they play like they did last night then they could be in the shake-up for 6th place.
Maybe then their crowd will make some kind of sound. They didn't last night.

Would totally agree with your comments regarding defensive reinforcements for next year and Jamie Coyle, hopes Magnes gets a chance now as given the calibre of opposition in our remaining games would surely give Jay a good idea if he is worth a contract next season.

Personally id like to see Coyle and Magnus at the back. We need that experience to get us over the line.

Hopefully decided by the time we play lincoln Once they know they're definitely in the play-offs but they can't be champions, I think they're going to do what we did last season and concentrate on being ready for the play-offs, rather than just winning their outstanding games. In theory it's better to end up 2nd or third, but I don't think it really makes that much difference. What really matters is your players being at their optimum for the play-offs - no injuries or suspensions in the remaining games.
