It's not so much the capacity (although that would be nice). But for the sake of a strip of land a couple of metres wide from the council, we could have had cover on four sides with terraced modules we already own, and felt more like a complete football ground.

Conflicting stories about this. I think originally MBC were saying we couldn't do anything that side until the other 3 sides had been developed, but more recently Terry said it could be the next phase after the library end.

It's got to be cheaper - and a lot more profitable - to develop the Town End.

This isn't even a medium term concern. Put this into its proper context. This is something we only need to concern ourselves with somewhere down the road.

Proper context ? Depends what you mean by medium term Promotion to the football league is dependent on development on the side of the ground No reasonable expectation of this in the next 2-4 years but we can dream

The town end development would likely be the most expensive as the idea was to include changing room and other facilities that are currently in the bar building to be relocated to allow future further expansion of the main stand. There was also plans for a two story building behind the redeveloped south stand for addditional entertainment restaurant facilities.

Am I the only one thinking about the current logistics problems of segregated games? In those segregated games the away fans enter over at the far end of the main stand. It sounds like for any segregated games during developments they will get the area from the corner flag to the dugouts on the river side. To get from the entrance to the designated area though, they would have to go past the development area, and I don't see how they'd be able to.

A walkway is being left clear in front of the development so the will still have access from the turnstile and back to the toilets.

The only thing I can think of is that it's the only way we can achieve 5000 capacity although that seems unlikely. I would have thought the Town End development would easily get us up to that.

But that is a ludicrous way to achieve the 5k capacacity level - way to expensive.

The football club has proved itself a positive force creating good publicity for Maidstone. Given some of the planning monstrosities approved and in the pipeline, a small stand for a well supported football club is hardly controversial.

But does MBC listen. They have greenlighted ever residential housing plan without providing a plan to relieve traffic congestion.

Looked very odd today - especially to those of us in seats 4 & 5!
Ironic that the first game to suffer from the expansion of the ground capacity is the one that so clearly indicated that that extra capacity won't be needed...
