Been interesting seeing how many we've taken to each of the away games so far and I thought it'd be interesting to keep a track if we can. If anyone has any info on our numbers after away matches please post on this thread and I'll try and keep it up to date as we go. Will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the away attendances table below from last year's National League. I'm guessing we finish off at an average around 300-350.
Maidstone United Away Attendances 2016/17 Aldershot - 336 Chester - 161 Tranmere - 202 Boreham Wood - 314 North Ferriby - 150 Torquay - 280 Eastleigh - 199 Barrow - 58 Sutton - 350 Southport - 124 Lincoln - 208 Bromley - 511 Dover - 509 Guiseley - 180 Solihull Moors - 300 York - 219 Braintree - 445 Dagenham - 365 Woking - 603 Gateshead - 199 Macclesfield - 107 Wrexham - 176 Forest Green - 280 FINAL AVERAGE - 273
National League Average Away Attendance 2016/17 as at Nov 10 2016 (From onefootballforum)
Tranmere 603 Lincoln 306 York 302 Chester 273 Wrexham 248 Aldershot 221 Maidstone 215 Torquay 186 Dagenham & Redbridge 174 Barrow 129 Woking 126 Eastleigh 109 Macclesfield 107 Dover 97 Southport 82 Sutton 82 Forest Green 78 Bromley 66 Gateshead 48 Braintree 44 Guiseley 42 Solihull 41 North Ferriby 39 Boreham Wood 33

I followed that thread last year & that average is about right.....they rarely took above a 100 to anyone other than the local games (Welling, Bromley, Woking & Aldershot)

Dover 95? Can't be right can it? Only took 111 to Wrexham on first day of the season. A long way, but got to be one of the more appealing longer trips and the first game of the season. Interesting to see how many they bring to us New Years Day.

They will probably complain about having an allocation of only 600

With the reduced capacity they surely won't get anywhere near that.

That's what they're entitled to under the rules - I imagine they will only get less if the club successfully play the "health and Safety" card.....

They only had 726 for there Saturday home game last week! Imagine when the winter arrives and they are not doing as well as last year because they lost a lot of big players. Old Jim will not be happy again!

i'd have thought our average will go up a fair bit more than that over the season, especially if we're doing well. the chester turnout may have been hit by the holiday season, and was definitely affected by the fact we have tranmere away next week. 2 long expensive trips so close together have given people the option of one or the other, and everyone i know has chosen tranmere. looking at the fixture list it seems there's a bit more time between the longer trips, so perhaps more people will be able to get to them. also wondering how many will make the trip to barrow in october, i've heard some say it can be a 7 or 8 hour drive.

Re Barrow : I holiday in the Lake District quite a bit. A good run in a car (non-stop) can take about 4.5 hours with Barrow appx another 30/45 mins extra. Throw in some stops, and yes it can take a while.

Stayed near Grange-Over-Sands a couple of years ago and took us nearly 9 hours. Barrow is probably another hour on top of that. I would say it's definitely worth going up the day before to be on the safe side, maybe have a weekend break in the lakes and leave yourself an hour's drive to barrow for the game. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to get that one past the missus, having already persuaded her that an Easter break near Wrexham is a good idea.

When I say a good run, that's obviously going a smidge over the limit😄 and no hold ups, using the M6 toll too. I left for Chester at 5.30am on Saturday, got there at 9am. There were the god awful 12 miles at 50mph roadworks on the M6, but turned off about 5 miles in and used the A roads across. Don't know of any cheap bnb's, but being near the lakes there should be hundreds to choose from.
