Didn't the club put some of the FA cup money from previous years into a fund for the new pitch?
Seem to remember that.
What is the exact Football League position on 3G now?

What is the exact Football League position on 3G now? At the moment still against it.. Part of the agreement of being in the Conference National is that if you get promoted to the league you have to rip it up and install grass.

I seem to remember reading League 2 clubs had basically said yes but it was going to take a little while to be officially approved.

Unless there something wrong with the pitch that we dont know about i dont understand the logic of doing a new surface right now if its not needed. already penciled in for nxt yr so why use money now that surely should go on the stand or new players. we have earned very well out of the pitch but surely you use it for the whole life span ?

I reckon it failed the yearly FIFA inspection. Either we replace it, or we don't get promoted.

Lets be honest the pitch hasnt looked in "tip top" condition for awhile now..massive black patches of rubber could be seen in certain parts of the pitch.
Like stated above i wouldnt be surprised if it failed the FIFA inspection.

Being installed by the same people who did Sutton's pitch, which is a very good sign....their pitch was quality & the type of standard i hope our new one will be.

It might also be that newly promoted teams have a better chance of getting stadium improvement grants.

Being installed by the same people who did Sutton's pitch, which is a very good sign....their pitch was quality & the type of standard i hope our new one will be. I remember listening to the Sutton fc sprinkler man on the opening day he was keen to tell anyone who would listen that there pitch was a higher spec then our one. He claimed the roll and bounce is more consistent in all weather conditions then ours and that it was less abazive to the skin. Maybe he wasn't talking out of his backside as many were saying at the time.
