Still optimistic. Didn't think there was a big gulf in class between the two teams tonight. Ebbsfleet having a touch more composure was the main difference, and it might have been a different game had Manny's header gone in.

Too optimistic dave. A few of our players seemed a yard short tonight
Worgan, Driver, Mills, Parry and Watts all played pretty well Rodgers, Bodkin and Taylor were OK Collin, May, Healy and Akrofi - all poor
Strange that Jack Paxman hasn't been starting !

Not unhappy with what I saw tonight (except the result obviously). Too early to be absolutely certain but I think Gravesend & Northfleet will be pushing top spot come the end of the season and we may well have already got our toughest home game out of the way.
They may have dominated spells but still created few chances and I doubt many sides will have the energy to close us down so consistently.
I still feel wholly positive, accepting there are a handful of sides better than us but we will compete with all of them

We reverted to type, played the hoofers and hoofed it. They looked a class apart for the first half hour. They were much quicker and closed down relentlessly. You can't have a slow Collin partnering a slow May in this league. Thought Rodgers poor tonight. If we play a three in midfield with Healy behind Brown and Paxman we'd control games. May with Bodkin/Taylor and Akrofi/Pinnock (later Flisher) either side would give us the pace and power we need. By the time our quality players came on we were chasing the game. Wish Tommy Mills would remember he can skin players on the outside as well as putting his foot on it and coming inside or turning back. We did look better when we did move it quickly in midfield.

Quality side Ebbsfleet. Thought the 10 and Dean Rance 4 had the midfield wrapped up. Quicker to close down, passing was sharper. We are not a million miles away so no need to be despondent. We will learn from this. Long way to go yet. Worgs save was world class did not deserve to get beaten with the follow up.

They were the better team from the first kick, closing down really well. However lee wasn't very busy between the sticks tonight, they had one real chance int he first half and took it, some dodgy defending in the build up to the second goal allowed a comfortable end for them.
Kedwell was utter piss, thought he'd offer ebbsfleet more, didn't look worth 3k per week or what ever he's on. We didn't really offer anything going forward as such, a few chances, didn't take them, paid the price.
Nevertheless, onwards and upwards, our man of the match was manny parry for me, didn't do a lot wrong at the back.

I think we had a good go but the second goal we just fell asleep. The run up before hand was us not speaking to each other and loosing the ball before their quick counter. Basically gifted it to them. There were periods in that second half where we just sat back and watched so surprised they only got 2. Steve Watt was stand out for me tonight. After the all the antics in the news I thought he was composed (give or take the goal mouth incident) and solid throughout. Not happy but they are probably the strongest we will face this season.

Ebbsfleet having a touch more composure was the main difference, and it might have been a different game had Manny's header gone in. We could lose 8-0 and you would still be optimistic. Maybe time for some reality to start setting in for some people (not meaning you btw). Perhaps some can start to enjoy the agonies and ecstasies of not being that sure whther we will a game when they go to it.

i thought Parkes and Kissock totally won the battle against Healy and Rogers. Controlled the game for large spells. Thought our defence were strong and Watt put in another great performance but Whoever finishes above them will win the league in my opinion.

They bossed the first half, there no 10 pulled the strings in midfield for them, he was a very good player indeed. Thought driver played well, watt parry and mills done ok to. We dont seem to want to use the width enough, we got round them a couple of times during the match but thats it. For me we played into there hands lobbing it up to may, it was easy pickings for there centre halfs. We move on, 3 pts from two of the favourites isnt bad. A word for paxman, dont think he hardly gave the ball away, we need to see more of him,and another centre forward wouldnt go a miss

Think we were ok tonight a few looked half a yard short Collins and may looked off the pace. We gave the ball away to cheap at times. But overall I think we will be ok this season. MOM for me tonight was stevie W he lead well and looked good. Overall I was happy with the commitment of the lads.most important we need to keep behind the boys and be the 12th man for them.

A question. Where was the famed town end atmosphere tonight? Had it gone on holiday...............

Maybe it was because we were losing. I think the really noisy ones were at the home end at Ganders Green Lane as well.
