According to what I've heard from various horses mouths th club wants to put in extra turnstiles and exits so capacity goes up sooner rather than later to 3000+. The club should have the extra dosh through the cup run.
Also it's now clear that even in Ryman Lge we could do with extra capacity. If you add 2 sell out FA Cup games, 2 derbies and possible play-offsyou have 4-10 games per season where you might now get >2226 demand. So it makes sense to get capacity up at the end of the season if possible.
The 3200 capacity should do us till we start knocking on the door of the football league...

If we get promoted we will have 12 months to get the ground up to the required standard as per the FA's ground grading regulations. It would be an issue only if we got promoted again straight away as you can only be one grade behind the league you are being promoted into.

It's all very exciting. I am really pleased the owners have these ambitions. They seem to be very business minded, and the only way these ground improvements are going to be paid for is through our profits and sponsorship and not through loans.
I can only see phase 1 and 2 being done in the next 3/4 seasons. As if we get into the conference premier then there will be other things we will have to spend money on such as turning professional. Which is a major expense.

All looks good, although I am slightly surprised that the eventual development of the South Stand does not incorporate new changing rooms and a bar as this effectively closes the door on expanding the East Stand in the other direction (southwards), further down the line, if we need to increase the capacity further by removing the existing Spitfire lounge and changing building. Apart from that it looks great and it certainly seems sensible to build a North Stand that will solve the capacity issue at a stroke, before extending the East Stand. Good stuff!

I think it's straightforward economics - spend v return. Extending the main stand, although it costs more, brings in more revenue than just building a bigger roof for the likes of you and me to huddle under when it rains. What bothers me is that the capacity can be technically increased quite easily by getting round the H&S restrictions (e.g. more turnstiles), WITHOUT actually increasing the places people can watch the game from. We already have a situation where, at much over 2,000, many people can't see the game properly - especially shorter people or kids - what's that going to be like at 3,000 capacity? Effectively 1,000 people unable to see the game properly. Are they going to come back? At the moment (and up to Conf National), we don't really need large new stands at the two ends, all we need is a the current Town End to be extended to full width and some form of shallow terracing (just 3 or 4 steps) along the river side. Without a great deal of expenditure, that should ensure that all of those 3,000 fans can actually see the game.

I would definitely be happier of if I didn't have to bring the wife's purple folding step to games, walking with the darn thing all the way from Fant, just so I can see if I get there too late for a place on the rail!

Oh and the plans don't exactly match my expectations so I must complain to god that the world is not to my liking and can't everything be just as I would have in this set of plans that were designed by a man that doesn't quite see things as I do now should we stop all developments until we all agree.............
I think not.

I'm not an expert on the construction or modification of tin sheds, which is what the current building seems to be. I remember during construction they even cut out holes for windows in what looked very much like an industrial warehouse. It would probably be possible to chop off the dressing rooms and put up a new wall for the Spitfire Lounge, allowing for the extension of the main stand to the goal line. Then new dressing rooms, offices etc could be built in another tin shed at another corner of the ground. All this supposes many more cup runs and increased attendances to justify the outlay, but would make for a pleasing main stand running the whole length of one side.

To save me some Time, im guessing that the plan has stayed the same, extend the main stand at the end of this season, with the library end stand to follow the year after, ( if required) or have I missed something?

no someone posted that we was putting some shallow terracing along the river side, I heard that we could raise the under ground water main to a height of 20 meters, thus not restricting sight lines, and improving water pressure for the needy people of Maidstone.

Apparently it has 20 meters on it. Does that mean 20 people are getting bills for the same water?

I think there's and underground one and an overground one. The overground one is being placed underground to get it out of the way and the underground one is being moved overground.
