I don't think we.should worry too much about crowds yet. Last year we started of against Wealdstone, and we played Kingstonian on a Saturday, and we were at home on non-league day. Lets see what we get against Dulwich, Tonbridge and Margate, and during the run in if we're still well placed. Lets face it, until last night our home fixtures haven't been the most enticing for the casual fan. Quite right. Opening day crowd was disappointing but otherwise...? Would like to know the last time we got over 1,600 for a 'normal' Tuesday night game (if ever). 1600 just about beats the 400 at Bourne park. Just. Anyway Dave, the casual era has almost come to an end. The kids are back to school so many a dad stopping in or would normally bring their son/daughter etc.

Sadly, according to a leaflet I read yesterday, nothing of the sort exists

Hey Mr Negative. So you cant slag off Frannie after his wonder goal, you cant slag off the team after a wonderful performance ,And you cant say the opposition were rubbish as you built them up to be a supreme test of how good the current MU team is. So you start on the Fans, and attendance . Last nights gate was a brilliant attendance for a Tuesday ,its beat some of our Saturday attendances this season. Where or who are these missing fans?. Our last season average was 1800,that gate last night was bigger than our current average...So whats wrong ! ,Ks had no more than 60 to 70 and thats a generous calculation. Last night saw some truly grim gates for Margate and the Mangels of 500 and 300 So why moan ,cant you help yourself. That was a fantastic team performance with two ot three stand our brilliant performances ,why look for any sort of negative . What will it be next week ,flood lights too bright or maybe not bright enough for you ,or is the carpark too small or perhaps the ground was built in the wrong place for you. JUST IN PASSING AND TO ADD TO YOUR LAST SARCASTIC COMMENT, A FEW PEOPLE DID COMMENT LAST NIGHT HOW DIM THE FLOODLIGHTS WERE AT THE I did tell you and your new coach buddy to stop wearing those stupid shades at night

I've mentioned the attendance before, but not sure what you're on about when it comes to 1600+ on a Tuesday! Tuesdays always tend to be 300 down on a Saturday so for me it was a good turnout and the atmosphere around the ground was fantastic!
I'm still revelling in how good we were last night. Bar 10 minutes at the end of the first half we were relentless against a team who looked very sharp themselves first half. To play that well over the whole game was fantastic to watch and the current system has just clicked.
The four of Collin, Flisher, Greenhalgh and Bodkin are so mobile, great pace and movement which is causing so many problems for the opposition and credit must also go to each of the four for how they press when they haven't got the ball.
What they're doing is only possible though because of the solid base we have in central midfield and at the back. Jack Parkinson for me has been outstanding sitting in front of the back four. I thought his best position was centre half, I stand completely corrected he's been immense.
At the back we look much more solid than last year and Miles has been a great addition and him and Watt already look to have a good understanding. That's good given how we were weak through the middle last year after Christmas.
Jay and the lads have given us a great start to the season and it's so exciting to feel the atmosphere growing with each game. Great effort by all and brilliant to sit in the Main Stand with only the odd moan!! COYS this could be a special season!

Couldn't agree more. Both parkinson & Rogers are going slightly under the radar and are providing a wonderful base for the attacking 4 you mention. When you see a bench of Brown Phillips coyle and May then you know you have a real chance this season! #coys

Last night was a fantastic nights football ,yet you still had to find something wrong ,something to complain about, something to moan about. Give it a rest. You are the type that jay talked about always unhappy, always saying were top because the teams we have played are rubbish. Stop digging at the club and players. Ahem. Can I enter a brief moan about the new burger bar? The old caravan thingy was SO much better and FASTER! Ketchup was very watery too...

Other clubs must be terrified of coming to the Gallagher at the moment!

I wouldn't say "pretty fair" at all. All right, they collapsed in the second half, but we were awesome (both halves) - they didn't lose the game, we won it.. Also, what's this nonsense (again) about our pitch giving us an advantage? We play half our games on grass! And anyway, if it gives anyone an advantage, surely it's the other side - they get to play on a superb surface when they visit us, whilst we (who are used to the best) have to cope with whatever pile of poo we find at other team's ground. Imagine training on plastic and then having to cope with a partly sanded, partly bald, mostly muddy ploughed field - who gets the advantage then?? And he actually said of course it gives them an advantage "their home record speaks for itself" - before last night we had actually scored more goals away! And did he not notice the fantastic advantage all those HOME draws gave us last season??

To be fair on the lad he looked a tad shell shocked by what had just happened, and who can blame him? And it was the guy doing the interview who pushed him on the subject, and it's probably a bit of a hangover from last season where their now ex manager was very critical of the pitch........think they'd just conveniently forgotten we beat them on mud as well.
I find this constant reference to the pitch a bit tiresome now and this claim it gives us an advantage, don't all clubs playing at home have an advantage as they are more familiar with their pitch and surroundings? Doesn't this suggestion assume all grass pitches are the same? So the pitch we played on at Aveley last week performs the same as the AFC Wimbledon maintained pitch at Kingstonian?
Fair play to Kingstonian though their fans made good noise, their manager and the guy doing the interview represent their club well, with the added bonus you don't need subtitles this season.

They're an impressive club. And I'm pretty sure they only had a couple of dozen fans at the game, so credit to them for the noise they made.
Odd bunch though - while we were queuing up (for over TEN minutes!) for chips, they were having a fairly heated discussion on the Labour party and its role in the Scottish referendum debate!
