I don't attend not because of one single incident but because the day was so unenjoyable in 2008 that I really don't want a repetition. In addition to the attempted assault on Tim, the numpty up our end of the ground and the group of blokes looking for trouble at the exit, I personally stepped in between 3 potential punch ups, had to negotiate with stewards so that one of our fans could stay in the ground and received some fairly horrible abuse in regards to someone I knew. It was not just Angels fans that I was unhappy with and I posted as such on the night of the game. It was like people had a few sherberts and became monsters that day just because if was Angels v Stones. An utterly unenjoyable day and I sure ain't taking the chance of repeating it. If anyone is mystified as to why Angls got themselves a reputation at that point then they should ask for a revival of the old Isthmian forum where they seemed to be on it at various points such as trouble with Kings Lynn, attacking the Sutton manager after the game, trouble at the play-off game etc etc All denied time and time again. There doesn't seem to be a list of incidents lately and, as I said at the time, I'm pretty sure that 99% of Angels fans will enjoy a dig at us in a fun way and no more. However, in regards to going to Longmead I am once bitten twice shy I am afraid. First time you have made your case in a cogent human way. It's not. I'll probably do it again at some point if you stick around long enough

I have to say Ade, you're missing out on a decent experience now. Not a game to remember, but the atmosphere and welcome were first class. I'm sure it is and I'm sure they were. I'm happy to miss out though. I don't think it will affect my life too greatly. It is worth remembering that in 2008 I went in as a guest of the chairman so had no complaints against the club who were 1st class.

Sennockian,
I don't think you will find a single Angel fan that denies the incidents you mention having taken place. They were all very regretble but in all the cases you quote there was wrong comitted by both parties involved and not just by Angels fans (even the Sutton manager was in part to blame). We are not in denial they took place nor do we wish to make excuses for any wrong doing on our part but we do though strongly object to them being constantly quoted as examples of Angel fans in general being a troublesome lot (year in year out). We are not, we are just plain and simple football fans and behave just in the same way as fans of any non league football club.
No one who attended Monday's game will have witnessed what you feared you would experience quite the opposite. All the fans from both clubs behaved in a way that was a credit to their clubs.
It is a pity you NWS, PMH and perhaps a few other Stone feel the way you do but at the end of the day it your loss not ours.

I think you have addressed that to the wrong person, ekctafc. Sennockian merely quoted a post by me. TBH I am not using said incidents as a barometer of TAFC fans now. I was merely highlighting them because someone, somewhere was trying to deny they happened. I will, again, say that I did not attribute the incidents of 2008 as being something that was all of Angels fans doings (and posted n our board that night to say so). It was such a tedious horrible day though that I simply came to the conclusion that it was not worth it any more and I will stick with that. You may consider it to be my loss not yours. The reality is that I have been to hundreds of games in my life and seen many good atmospheres. I suspect that I will see many more. I also have different life priorities now. As such I see a negligible loss really. TAFC has lost my entrance fee each season we play each other. Probably a small loss on to each side. I am sure I will live with it and hope you can too.

The fact that 3 angels post on here without animosity shows that its possible to get along without complaint. It's football and we all love it. There will always be the odd dickhead and every club has them. We know who theirs are and we know who ours are. Great atmosphere at the game, town enders at one end and the class of 08 at the other.

To be fair the experience was probably much better without nws there anyway.
If you don't go as something happened in 2008 why do you keep posting on this forum?

Ha ha...the person who started a thread about discipline but can't keep his own in check. If you wish to ask a question that makes sense then I'll happily answer it. Until then I'll leave you to your inane ramblings.

First time you have made your case in a cogent human way.I'm sorry you feel that way nws but you seem to have made up your mind about us Angels and nothing I can say will dissuade you. I won't come back on the forum but thanks to those Stones fans for the chat. I sense good times ahead for the Stones and I wish you well (apart from New Year's Day of course). All the best for the rest of the season.

You are welcome on here Siskinlad and I don't actually think many people have taken exception to your comments, and I personally don't have an issue with Lee (Hitman) coming on here and calling our club an "experiment"....that's banter and he gives as good as he gets.
The thirst that comes out of your club to see us fail in every aspect of our recovery from previous bankruptcy is something that some of us fail to comprehend, not merely because I personally wouldn't want to see Tonbridge Angels disappear forever.

" "It was not just Angels fans that I was unhappy with and I posted as such on the night of the game. Yes, you used to show your vulnerability on a regular basis on the old Ryman forum. You, ladderman and peter foster must have been the most vulnerable people in the world.
