£1.30 a game, and people are moaning. I thought people were considered of a pensionable age at 65 or 67 or whatever it is now.

Will upset a few but the main entry fee hsdn't risen since we have been home. I dont see it as unreasonable to charge the same fee to those of non retirement age as everyone else. Perhaps you have had it too good for too long? Most of this age group will have normally low to non existent mortgages and the kids will usually have flown the nest. Seems they can afford it more than the younger ones to me OK so next thing the club will say is that people of that age group probably subscribe to the Charles Hughes / Bert Millichip style of " 3 passes or fewer " long ball football. So not only should "mature" supporters suffer watching that sort of cr@p they should pay more as well !!

I'd say that you should say, oh well we got away with it for a few years now we have to pay the same as everyone else, fair enough.
Hard luck I'm afraid or perhaps you think the majority should continue to subsidise your cheap entry and pay more?
There is something called inflation perhaps you have heard of it. On occasion it necessitates a price increase. I would argue this is not a price increase but putting the pricing structure where it should have been all along.
Can't please anyone can they, its alright to expect the club to win promotion, be challenging, spending on players, building new stands etc, so long as us Blue rinse, cant stand change, paranoid about everything daily mail reader types dont have to pay anymore for it!
Its what you should have paid all along!

£1.30 a game, and people are moaning. £1.30? for those aged between 60 and 65 the increase is £60 (p.a. season ticket) divided by 23 (number of home games) = £2.60 approx For those paying at the gate it's £3 per game Still, could always boycott any friendlies, (minor) cup games, away games and evening games when it's freezing. And forego the programme and optional extras like pies or burgers.

Not suggesting anything like that, but it seems an odd area to target!

Over the cost of a calendar year, the stand season ticket works out at about £4 a week, so broken down like that it doesn't seem too bad does it. Obviously some people will be peed off at this, but I'm sure the decision was made with the best interests of the club at heart.
A lot of teams offer a discount for people who sign up for season tickets early, whereas Maidstone doesn't do this. Supply and demand, really. What was it we sold in terms of season tickets last year before kick off ? 600 or so. I believe that our new rivals from up the road offer discounts for "early birds" and you can see why, as they get small crowds.

You could always go for the VP ticket. That's only gone up £50 this year

im not sure, but in most area's of life 65 is the norm for concessions... Not sure that's the point. Does the club really need the money so badly that they penalise people who could have been supporting the club for decades? Presumably in 5 years time they'll move it to 70. You should have been born in 1949, and move straight from one concession to the new one! In 5 years time I'll be ready again....

As someone hurtling towards that age, it had never occurred to me I would get a discount before drawing my pension. By the time a programme, fares, beers, food etc have been budgeted for, the cost of entry is only a percentage of the total spend anyway.
Something that would upset me is if kids had to pay loads. We lost a generation of supporters, and it is right they should be encouraged/subsidised. Maybe one of them will make millions as an adult and invest ridiculous amounts of money in the club forty years from now.

The point that most on here seem to be missing is anyone now 61,62,63,64, that did previously buy a season ticket at the lower rate have now got to pay much more how can the club take away what had previously been given, A very poor way to treat loyal supporters !
And anyone paying on the gate in the 61/64 group have a 30% increase !!
