Thanks for the entertainment tonight from you guys on the forum! Really looking forward to the game against Folkstone and Herne Bay United - when it gets played!! Will the Enfield game on Saturday be on Stones Radio Live this weekend and is there any chance of highlights on MUTV next week? Just asking. COYS.

Sorry, possibly the worst player to put a Stones Shirt on since Richie Radbourne! I cannot beleive you are telling me Danny Lye is a worse player than:- Stephane Mamadou Helio Guerrero Steffan Gaisie Jamie Maxton JOHN WILFORT FFS a player so bad he never even got near the challenges Danny Lye mistimed!!!!!!!!!! Aaron Firth Dean Hernandez-Bradshaw Gabriel Odunaike Chris Saunders Charlie Stimson Richard Knell Matt Wright Cedric Abraham Ryan Andrews Des Boateng Reis Boyle Pierrick Briand Rob Carter Joe Goldsmith Dean Grant Chris Henry Adam Marsh Jack Pallen Simon Pettit Richie Stevens Dane Sutton Craig Thompson need I go on? And while we are on the subject of 2010/11, Danny Lye played in 13 league games in which we got 16 points compared with 21 points from the other 29 games Ok I'll concede Steffan Gaisie But most the others yes!

I don't believe Danny Lye was a bad player - he lacked a yard of pace and sometimes his close control wasn't the best but his spirit ,tackling , positional sense & emotional support for the team added to that. Remember towards the end of last season he was a regular starter - he improved in every game he played. He in my eyes qualifies as a Maidstone legend. Compare that to the 2 midfielders who left during the course of last season. So Danny Lye leaves and immediately Mickey Phillips picks up a 5th booking and a suspension. So who's the midfield enforcer now ? Slight lack of joined up thinking there ?

Do league cup games count towards suspensions? If so, Micky could be back for next saturday.

But to be a true enforcer at this level you need to either be a snappy annoying geezer barking away at the ref or somebody who delivers crunching tackles just a few seconds late. Don't think Richard Rose fits either of those ( he's too good to fit either of those ).
