Islandstone asks why none of these players sign for Folkestone. Quite simple really and answered by toon army in that Folkestone don't have any money to pay them the sort of amounts they can get at Hythe and possibly other Kent teams in Ryman South. Also Cugley would rather try to use and develop young players rather than rely on over 30s on their way down hill, just need to look at the Folkestone team to see how few "oldies" there are, plenty of players with experience but still quite young and having played for Folkestone for several years Maybe cos of their age they're shorter sighted when choosing a club. If they were younger then take a different view. I'd pick folkstone cos of the clubs potential and the amount of fans they can attract to rise up the league. Anyway, who am I to say. Danny, worked hard and can do as he wants.

The highly rated debutant was solely responsible for a 1-0 win tonight...he may not have got on the scoresheet but he was instrumental in a terrible challenge that saw him receive a yellow card

A player sorely missed by the MOB underneath the Town Stand end.

Tuesday's game should get quite a bit of interest what with 4 recent stones players playing for hythe.

Sorry, possibly the worst player to put a Stones Shirt on since Richie Radbourne! I cannot beleive you are telling me Danny Lye is a worse player than:- Stephane Mamadou Helio Guerrero Steffan Gaisie Jamie Maxton JOHN WILFORT FFS a player so bad he never even got near the challenges Danny Lye mistimed!!!!!!!!!! Aaron Firth Dean Hernandez-Bradshaw Gabriel Odunaike Chris Saunders Charlie Stimson Richard Knell Matt Wright Cedric Abraham Ryan Andrews Des Boateng Reis Boyle Pierrick Briand Rob Carter Joe Goldsmith Dean Grant Chris Henry Adam Marsh Jack Pallen Simon Pettit Richie Stevens Dane Sutton Craig Thompson need I go on? And while we are on the subject of 2010/11, Danny Lye played in 13 league games in which we got 16 points compared with 21 points from the other 29 games

I don't believe Danny Lye was a bad player - he lacked a yard of pace and sometimes his close control wasn't the best but his spirit ,tackling , positional sense & emotional support for the team added to that.
Remember towards the end of last season he was a regular starter - he improved in every game he played.
He in my eyes qualifies as a Maidstone legend. Compare that to the 2 midfielders who left during the course of last season.
