You can't win anything with kids. How true those words were, I remember Alan Hansen saying that about Man Utd how right he was think Eric might have helped a bit

Adrian I would say it is a minority of new supporters not all of them, I have had the misfortune of supporting Newcastle for 30+ years, thankfully that's in the past, but I can say hand on heart i have loved supporting and following Maidstone, this last couple of years, I for one have no interest in going back to watch a load of overpaid prima donnas, the majority of fans i have met regardless of them being new or old are first class and am I proud to be part of the whole set up....COYS Indeed a minority. I was referring to the minority that behave in such a fashion, as described.

After years of watching football at lower levels some of us are happy that we have a club and please remember that many of the happy to be home camp followed and fought for many years just to be that...Home. So when denigrating them as unambitious just remember that they were ambitious enough to watch park football and dross for many years to ensure we survived and got better in our home town. It took around 12 years and lots of sweat and tears (and journeys to unknown places) to get back to our Home town so pardon us for enjoying it. Well said ... and here's one Jonny-come-latey who has enjoyed (almost) every minute of the Mighty Stones return home and, more importantly, has enough patience to see if they improve enough to make It any further up the ladder. If they do - they do - if they don't - I'll still go and watch them for the same reasons I started watching in the first place. You know, I think we have been rather spoilt these last two seasons. Time to take a sizeable step back - take a deep, deep breath - and, yes! it still smells sweet! Good luck today, boys, and I'll see you on Saturday.

I think we will finish 11th, at least in this attendance league, because dagnabit Aldershot seem to have overtaken us; when did that happen? -

Impressive though, isn't it. Quite a few in there who went out of business and then arose phoenix-like to live again.
Edit to say those columns were completely in line and neatly spaced when I entered them! The table is clearer on the Non League Matters website.

I think it's more to do with FC United, as they moved up several places due to recent crowds of over 3 and 4 k.

Interesting looking at the highest crowds for the clubs above us and around us (aside from Telford) which are quite a bit higher than ours suggesting these clubs have "big" games which pushes the average up.
Weren't their 2,000 Luton fans at Dartford the other night?
We are pretty consistent with our crowds. the max away fans we've had is probably 200 (?) so I'd say it's pretty impressive

On the subject of "stats" I remember the claim by the (now) "Champions" they would have the most away support in the Ryman League this season, I've run a quick analysis and it's actually closer than I was expecting it to be.
But given the occasional "2,000 at home, 50 away" comments I've noticed it's worth having a brief look at.
It's difficult to get exact away fans figures so if you take the 21 away games (not including when we played each other) 506 more people have attended the games we have been involved in.
Clearly if you took it as a percentage of home support then Wealdstone would win hands down, and if you look it as a head to head between us and them they would win 12 games to 9 (ie out of the 21 games, the crowd was higher in 12 of their games than it was for us)
We haven't claimed to take the most away and I suppose their regular claim they do is fairly valid, however it's quite difficult to get true numbers because of all the variables, which includes distance between clubs, league position, date of game (ie midweek or weekend), the weather, Champions League on TV etc etc, more home fans being inclined to attend.
Interestingly, we played both Bognor and Dulwich midweek, whilst Wealdstone played them on a Saturday, the difference being fairly minimal with their being 26 more at Dulwich and 35 more at Bognor for the Wealdstone games.
Take the reverse (ie we played on a Saturday and they played midweek) there were 196 more at Kingstonian and 340 more at Hampton and Richmond, 234 more for our game at Hornchurch.
The big differences of course were the derby games, with 358 more at Hendon for their game with Wealdstone but 458 more for our game at Margate.
The closest game was Enfield, where there were just 3 more people at our game.
