I would like to see us look to build a team around King and Olorunda up front next year!

Exactly what I have been saying since we signed him, he needs to feel wanted and yes loved, it didn't help him that a few weeks after signing him somebody decides to put on the forum is King a waste of money, he isn't and will prove his worth I hope so, even if it's just by way of getting a fee back for him!

Itwas me that stated that thread toon, and although I don't rate him personally I stated at the time he was a waste of money due to the other strikers we had and desperatly need that money to go on a centre half,I'm not backtracking as I said I don't rate him due to lack of effort and workrate he got a decent goal record but so has blotch and ade who work harder for the team in my opinion, lucky we got Watt to solve our defence problems,Also I hope King does read this as I've stated before I've followed the club for 30 yrs and chipped in when we looked dead and would chop of a finger to play just 5mins for my club so he know we expect maximum effort at all times,if he really is knocked out of his stride by a bit of criticism then football ain't a game for him and remember I contribute to his wages and if my boss don't think I'm putting in the effort I know about it

I preferred the initial idea on the other forum that we get King as a consolation prize for Saturday ;D. Still feel he is the best striker in Ryman South. Even if he leaves he'll be onto another Ryman Premier League side ( unless Cugley works some magic). But if he isn't settled, then he isn't settled. End of story The thought hasn't even crossed our Invicta minds www.fifc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1126Invicta up north

Not the easiest environment for the poor sod to come into when some of you were saying he was a waste of money before he'd even played a game.
Whether we had too many strikers is somewhat beside the point since they are unlikely to all feature next season. Kingy was bought with the future in mind and is the kind of striker you have to snap up while the chance is there. I'm absolutely convinced he will come good next season given a decent run of games, and I'd far rather have someone who's pissed of sitting on the bench than someone who's happy to sit there and collect their pay cheque every week, not that we have any of those.

As Ragstone said 11 goals in 19 starts, there is no pleasing some people. If King stays, which I hope does his, quality will shine through next season.

I certainly didn't judge him before he played dave, I don't remember who, but there were certainly a number of posts complaining about how many strikers we had and how the money should have been spent on a creative midfielder.

i here we are signing Foghorn Leghorn next season, so he can do the running about like a headless chicken and Stuart can concentrate on scoring and nice touches

Total tosh Dave, commenting that we didn't need another striker, and a midfielder / defender was needed is hardly calling him a waste of money is it? For what it's worth, I thought we had enough strikers and thought he might be a 'Rodney Marsh' However, once we got him I thought we should have played him, and have certainly backed him both on here and at games. Hope he stays next year, and I hope Jay can play a style that suits him more

...more divisive than Maggie Thatcher. Discuss Well that invitation certainly worked! Although the arguments for and against have been rehearsed ad nauseam before on this board. Think up another topic for discussion to keep us occupied during the close season, nws.

Is a bloody fantastic player and I hope we build our team around him, I was glad he was so fed up after the Faversham game it shows he wants to play for us, no player should be happy to sit on the bench and he wasn't, Stuart if you are reading this thread and I hope you aren't the majority of Maidstone fans are right behind you, chin up fella, looking forward to seeing you next season
