Good luck with telling any Millwall fan hes from Kent and not deep sarf London. I would say Millwall is historically part of Surrey, although I stand to be corrected.

I thought london bridge got flogged to the yanks, that would mean if kent stretches to london bridge then it goes right accross surrey, hampshire dorset devon cornwall atlantic oceon and half way accross the united states america? Ha ha...I was hoping someone would pick up on that. Not at all. I was just pointing out that you can't just throw away hundreds of years of history just because of local government reorganisations. So, if I ask the question, where are the borders of Kent what is your answer?

Pre-1974 borders. Shit that means I'm in the county town of Berkshire!

Deptford, Greenwich, Woolwich, Lee, Eltham, Charlton, Kidbrooke and Lewisham were transferred out of Kent, into the newly formed County of London in 1889. Bermondsey, Southwark, Camberwell and points south and west of there were transferred from Surrey. As an aside, I grew up in Bromley, then spent 16 years in Sidcup - if anyone asked where I was from, I'd say Kent.

Swanley and Dartford are inside the M25 so you contradict yourself.

Just been looking at the teams above us in the national chart. The only 2 not ex-league teams are Telford (just relegated) and FCUM (just lost playoff final) - can see us overtaking them. Of the teams coming down, Barnet were 2400, Aldershot 2300 (and Accrington 2 less than us!!!) So was that our best average crowd ever I wonder?Any stats from the Dark Ages, Bryan?

Not sure HUw, but during the 50's the club regularly attracted gates in excess of 3,000

My first game I watched in 1962 had a crowd of around 3,000 I seem to recall. In those days I didn't check on attendances as I now do.

Good luck with telling any Millwall fan hes from Kent and not deep sarf London. I would say Millwall is historically part of Surrey, although I stand to be corrected. Millwall is historically part of Essex, being on the Isle of Dogs. Millwall F.C. play in Bermondsey, and formerly New Cross, which are historically part of Kent. I don't see why an area can't be considered both part of London and Kent. Places such as Barming are generally considered part of both Maidstone and Kent, and cities like Berlin have been split between two countries, which is a little more significant than being split between counties.

I meant that London could be considered a city or metropolitan area spread across the four counties of Kent, Essex, Middlesex and Surrey. So Greenwich could be considered a part of London that happens to be in Kent.
At no point was I talking about the administrative area of Greater London. In general, the boundaries of administrative areas change so frequently as to be useless in denoting a geographical area.

As it seems your definition of geographical areas seems to be going back to ancient UK kingdom can you please tell me what we tell people from London, as your refusal to accept administrative boundaries to define geographical areas means that London does not exist.
