Is anyone contracted until the end of next season? Or does that not happen?

We’ve done it in the past and had our fingers burnt. Sol, Luque and Booty were the only 2 year deals I can remember. Only Booty worked out.
I don’t really know. Some decisions to make though. Will Gavin be given another year?

If we get promoted, most of this team wouldn't be good enough for the league above, so I really hope we don't go signing any more before we know what league we will be in.

Some will be good enough if other quality is added around them. Some will become squad members. We won’t sign a whole new squad. Nor could / should we

Not exactly Mr Motivator. Some of the team willread this, how do you think they will respond ? Maybe slightly negative, but its realistic. They're playing at this level for a reason, most of this squad isn't good enough for the National League. If we want to actually survive in the league above, big changes will need to be made whenever we are promoted, even Jay quickly realized that after getting us promoted to the National League.

Also some are still developing/improving so I would give them at least a chance. Personally, I'm very happy Sam Corne has signed up already for next season after the season he's had I expected him to be poached by a national League side.

Personally, I'm very happy Sam Corne has signed up already for next season after the season he's had I expected him to be poached by a national League side. The thing is it's all well and good saying "give the National South players a chance", but once you give them a deal you can't just easily get rid of them if they aren't good enough, like we saw last time when we retained the whole National South squad. I remember everyone saying Hak made the right move retaining the whole National South squad and that they deserved a chance, then within a few months everyone was moaning that we were stuck with a load of players who weren't good enough. Im very happy we retained Sam because I think he can be good enough for the league above, but I dont think its wrong saying we should wait and see what league we are in before re-signing more players. Heck if Covolan is prepared to re-sign now, yes definitely do it, theres no doubt hes good enough for the league above.

But the reality is that none of us including George, knows which league we will be in next season. Betting odds may suggest we are more likely to be in NLS than NL but either is possible. At this stage George will only offer contracts to those players he is really confident will do the business in NL. I'm guessing the s/l will be no more than 5 for the NL, with probably a long list of 10 for the NLS.

Without naming names I think there are some that may never be quite good enough for the national League so I agree we shouldn't re -sign the entire squad just yet but there are several players that could potentially be good enough that I wouldn't object if Elokobi signed them up for next season now.
