I was close that incident and it was more caused by poor stewarding than fan 'misbehaviour' it was not a coincidence that the club acted to ensure the steps in the Genco were kept clear after that (until Wednesday when the stewarding was weak again Doesn’t standing on the steps count as misbehaviour then? It’s still doing something you’re not supposed to do. it probably does, but it was more over enthusiasm at the win, rather than anything malign and made worse by poor crowd management

Were Tanga, Berkely-Agypong and Adu-Poku all loanees? If not I hope we would keep all three (especially Jephte) but probably not. Tanga and Adu-Poku were both loanees but Berkely-Agypong was a free agent before we signed him, having been released by Havant and Waterlooville [/quote] I spoke to Jacob Berkeley-Agyepong at the game yesterday - he was hopeful of playing NL level next year (ideally with Maidstone), so I wouldn't be surprised to see him go. I do think he's good enough for the higher level.

Likely outcomes of regular misbehaviour at home games. 1. Someone will get seriously injured. Most likely an innocent bystander. 2. National League will fine us, or force us to play behind closed doors. 3. Nothing will be done and the depressing incidents will continue (most likely). Number one has already happened in the crush to invade the pitch after the Stevenage game. I was close that incident and it was more caused by poor stewarding than fan 'misbehaviour' it was not a coincidence that the club acted to ensure the steps in the Genco were kept clear after that (until Wednesday when the stewarding was weak again

Watching from the town end, our stewards react to problems rather than prevent them. When Dartford got a penalty, it was obvious what would happen. But they had to send in bodies after the event to clear the gangway with force. And when did we appoint a drunk cheerleader to stand with his back to the game in an area no one else can go, “conducting” the children and making hand gestures to wind up the away end? Please stop. It’s embarrassing. No wonder we can’t control games without serious injuries. Calm down Mr Grinch - he certainly wasn’t drunk and wasn’t winding up the away fans (though he got plenty of stick from them) and him being there has no relation to the injuries on Saturday

Yes it's quite a worry to see Dover down in the dumps. I so miss those bank holiday matches can't say I do - Crabble on Boxing Day 2018 rivals Barnet on Saturday as my most miserable away day

Highlights on YouTube and confirm what we already knew - the ref was hopeless. Sending off: a 50/50 ball, they both went for. Free kick to Taunton at best. Their goal a direct result of that and piss poor defending, as George has admitted. Two players blatantly shoved into the hoardings: simply not good enough from the ref. Far more dangerous that Razzaq's red card. Our late attack ending in a foul not given: equally poor from the ref. A second half incident, not shown, had their defender with both hands on our player, right in front of the linesman, not given. All of the above blatantly obvious to everyone but the officials, which simply isn't good enough. Did we deserve to win though? Probably not, but did Covolan have to make any saves? Not really, so all in all a bit of a pisser. I agree with all of that - didn't think it was a red at the game and the highlights confirmed it. The Taunton management and player bought the sending off with their reaction. We certainly were the better side overall.

My take :
- decent overall performance, very professional when key decisions went against us
- Corne and Bone were excellent and Raz took his goal excellently from a great cross
- Lucas is a great signing, really dominated his box at times which is a significant asset
- thought Bivesh was having his best game for us before the red, and I thought that was harsh (the HH player bought it)
- ref was out of his depth
- HH are a snide little club (and it’s rubbed off on Reece Grant), let’s give them a well deserved hostile welcome in February

Edos is right nws Time to get real. Last year the majority were saying we would be mid table or play offs. Myself and the ever-accurate souls tone said we might struggle. Why should I be listening now? I don't recall the majority saying that - and I think last year is another example of getting it wrong in pre-season half the squad didn't finish the season, and that included most of the new signings in recent years our worst seasons followed poor pre-seasons followed by high player turnover (2018/19 & 2022/23), our best when the squad was more settled (2015/16 & 2021/22)

We are looking beyond awful. Nothing is decided pre season decided no, but you significantly increase your chances of success by getting a complete and settled squad together early in pre season objectively, we are in a mess right now and there is no reasonable explanation for it, beyond poor management from the top down

Welcome to the Stones - but I’m not sure that’s even an upgrade on Christie Patterson, and certainly not a Luque or Barham replacement How can you judge a player you've not seen play? I have seen him play - for Concord and Braintree he may well prove me wrong, here’s hoping - but he looks like squad filler to me

Yes very surprised he decided to drop down the ladder, I am sure some other NLS clubs would have taken him but I guess they offered him a deal he liked. Let's be honest, it's his level. No - he’s proven that he’s good enough for the national south (but no higher)

I think we’ll regret losing Dom, he’s proven in the National South
