I still don't understand why we let Aransibia go, though. OK, so he didn't always drop back, but he was a pretty good midfielder/winger/forward. I think our attacking game has been poorer without him. Also, he wouldn't have been cup-tied. But then, George moves in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform... I think we have planned to make a few moves to strengthen and this is the usual non-league pack shuffle. It's just the FA Cup run has come in the middle of this!

Ok, let's try a starting eleven. Covolan, obviously, but should Earle play tonight, given the importance of Saturday? Back four - Brown not available, so presumably Bone or Greenidge, Hoyte, Kyprianou, Fowler? Midfield - Corne, Bone and four others Attack - don't have one. Our only chance is to be ultra disciplined, hoping for a set piece (not that we are good at those) and try to frustrate them, like we did to Stevenage. They can do it, but need Ipswich to have an off day, plus the sort of luck/missed chances that Stevenage had. The longer we hold out, the more frustrated Ipswich will become, which is why they will hope to score early, be 3-0 by half time and then use their subs. I would consider Appiah in the back four. Has looked decent when he’s played there and reads the game well.

Appiah is a full back according to Leicester, I believe. However I think his loan ends on Thursday and I have not seen anything on the website to confirm that has been further extended.

Connor Kelly is surely fit now ? he was on the bench for the Stevenage game This rain keeps up we'd be better off with Gene Kelly.

There is no hope. we would need to be 10/10 all over the pitch and they'd need top have a couple sent off early. Or all be 1/10. Our record defeat may be beaten this weekend☹

Ref for Saturday is Anthony Taylor. Pretty sure I’ve heard of him.

Are you actually contemplating the idea of drawing or winning. Let it go, enjoy the day, hope to score 1 when we are 5 down so we can gan mental and sing 'we're gonna win six five

Chris Sutton and Arni and Juston from The Vaccines have had their predictions:
Chris Justin Arni Ipswich v Maidstone 3-0 0-1 0-0 AP
I wish I was that confident.

Sutton predicted a 3-0 Stevenage win last round, so I reckon another 1-0 Stones victory!

We should at least give them a game - which is a bloody relief. Excellent exposure for the players too - not something that happens too often at our level. Hopefully that will up their game (and then result in us losing them to some NL club!!).

With the possible exception of Covolan our players are not NL standard so I think we are pretty safe from predators in that league.

I'd start: Lucas Hoyte Kypriano Greenridge Fowler Bone Corne Gurung / Appiah Sole Reynolds Doku It kind of picks itself as there isn't much behind it
