Maidstone United are pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Jephte Tanga on loan from Leyton Orient.
The 19-year-old is a product of Orient’s youth set-up and made his senior debut for the O’s in an EFL Trophy victory over Southampton under-21s in September 2021, before making his league bow as a sub in a 2-2 draw with Colchester United in March 2022.
In recent seasons he has enjoyed loan spells with Sutton Common Rovers and Royston Town before flourishing for Cray Wanderers last term, winning their Young Player of the Year award. This season has seen Jephte complete a successful spell with Welling United, a bright spark for the Wings during a difficult season.
He now joins the Stones for an initial one month loan and provides some attacking versatility on the wing for George Elokobi with his ability to play in both defence and midfield.
Is he a backup for tomorrow or will he go straight in as our long awaited winger?

Don't understand why we are signing an Orient no hoper who has graced the playing fields of step 5 club Sutton Common Rovers and ignoring our own youths who were prevalent on the bench early season . What is wrong with Iandolo and Elliot Wenham? What's the point of having your own young players then signing a player who had a good spell at a f**king piss poor Welling side. I hope he does well but I just don't understand it.

Why sign a young inexperienced midfield player when we already have Gurung, Iandolo, Hatton & Court?

Reckon nws will thoroughly enjoy seeing daveu being wrong, he’s constantly trying to stir him up for whatever reason. Seems to have beef with him, no idea why. The most irritating see you next on this forum (myself excepted). He’ll be along soon

Some years ago daveu v hbs spats were a regular feature on here, and would go one for multiple pages...

They should be given a chance ahead of EFL cast offs that they don't want anymore.

Yep. What’s the point of the U23s otherwise. If you can’t play them at this level and against part timers when will you?
