Boreham Wood manager at the Gallagher tonight, almost def scouting Levi. He wasn't alone. Bugger. He’ll like what he saw tonight.

Very strange game. Long periods of dull uninspired dross punctuated by moments that were actually very good, all be it few and far between. Easy to see why Havant are where they are, but we didn’t really take advantage as we should have done and our first goal was actually against the run of play. That rather took the wind out of their sails and the second was a brilliant solo effort from Levi with the help of some pretty poor defending. Expected to overrun them after the break but they shook us early on when Aransibia lost possession in midfield and they cut through us to reduce the arrears. They were on top for a while but we then started to dominate without really creating very much. Levi got the third and the game really petered out after that apart from an altercation between Levi and Zouma that resulted in a yellow card each. Didn’t see why it kicked off but Zouma at least was very lucky it wasn’t a red. There were a couple of outstanding performances in an overall poor game. Rush looked very good again, Levi was as good as I’ve seen him and the young lad from Forest looked a very good prospect.

It was low, but not that low! (1,570ish, I think)
Weird game. We played some superb stuff at times, and at other times we switched off and became shambolic. H&W have some good players, but they (mostly) are crap in front of goal and their defence was awful.
Their goal was well taken, though, but if our defence had been half awake, they'd never have had the chance. After that goal they picked up and could maybe have got a second - then God knows how we would have been. But Levi's wonder goal effectively ended the game for them. And, after that, we knocked the ball around competently and even tried to score once or twice, but to no avail (where are our goals coming from when Amantchi goes??) - until The Incident...
No one seems to have seen whatever happened, but Zouma wasn't happy with Amantchi for some reason, and, just as whatever it was seemed to be over, he grabbed Levi round the neck and tried - what? No one seems sure. It looked more like an attempt to strangle Levi or bring him down, rather than a punch.
But, whatever it was about, Zouma was certainly pissed off and had to be held back by his entire team. I've never seen anything quite like it. He ended up talking to the ref in tears. She handled it pretty well, I thought - especially considering how much bigger than her both players were and how wound up Zouma was.
There was obviously a lot more going on than we were aware of, because she spoke to both players at length and then gave both a yellow (which upset the MS a bit!). Then she spent quite some time talking to both managers. All very puzzling.
Levi was taken off shortly afterwards, but whatever it was between the players seemed to have blown over. The ref added 7 minutes (it was about 90 by then), which didn't seem much, considering how long play had been stopped.
Apart from that, the key thing about tonight was the bloody cold - it was literally freezing. God alone knows how players cope with standing around in that sort of temperature for 10 minutes, after 80 minutes of football, but, even in the MS, it was painfully cold.
What did all this tell us about Saturday chances? I've no idea. At times we looked like a side that could give Barrow a nasty shock, but at others we looked like a side that was struggling to cope with the NS's bottom side.
I just hope it's not so cold Saturday!!

The lad from Forest (Leicester) had a good game too.

Aransibia lost procession and then couldn’t be bothered to run back to get the ball back or get in position to defend. Glad George took him off straight away as obviously saw that he couldn’t be bothered to do the hard work. No way he can be in the squad for Saturday. Absolutely disgraceful.

Sorry jdl, I've got to disagree with you about the ref's handling of the Zouma incident. Imho she didn't handle it well at all. It should have been a straight red all day long (violent conduct). Earlier in the season at Hemel Bivesh put his arm round a players neck briefly and instinctively trying to shrug him off and got a red. Zouma's conduct was far worse. Shame tho apart from this I thought she refereed the rest of the game well.

Not a great performance tbh but 3 points and 2nd in league is sweet enough. This rotating the pack malarkey and constant reshaping of the team does have its downsides. Still lack some cohesion and fluidity on occasions, but not surprising. Can't help but think and hope there is more to come from the team.

Agree with much of the above - not wholly convincing but a win. I thought we were second best until the first goal and then it looked quite comfortable after Amechi's solo effort. A poor goal to concede but looked pretty comfortable after the third without threatening.
Amechi put in what I thought was his best all-round performance in the first half. I know he has 20 goals but I still can't see him going higher. Last time out in the NLS, Jack Barham scored a lot and he stayed in the NL. He's a far superior player in almost every department to Amechi but hasn't exactly scored a lot, the FA Cup hattrick notwithstanding. It will be interesting to see how Amechi does against Barrow.
Other than the 'cat' incident - Amechi had been winding Zouma up for at least five minutes before it kicked-off - it was interesting watching and listening to Sam Bone shouting at all and sundry. He waited at least two minutes to mouth off at Kyprianou after the latter had played a poor pass and then completely lost it with Colovan after he received the ball when he wasn't expecting it. He kept up the argument for at least five minutes after that as well. There's commitment and pulling the team up, but there's also focusing on the game.

No mention of Roarie Deacon, but subbed at half time, probably because he was so anonymous. Must be regretting his move. For all his post match comments about one game at a time, I think there was a sub plot last night about trying to keep possession because we will be up against it on Saturday. If Barrow come and have a go, we could struggle, as per St Alban's and Hampton, so may well be George was trying to get the players minds ready for that. If so, fine by me, though shame we didn't try to take Havant to the cleaners. Really hope Levi isn't attracted to Boreham Wood. Not sure he'd do well in the NL and could easily be back in the NS pretty quickly. If he does leave, would much rather see him having a go in Two or above as just think the NL doesn't suit his ability. The more I see of Lucas Covolan, the more I like him. Bit of a maverick, but very good keeper. The Leicester loaner looked decent and with Greenidge and Hoyte on the bench hopefully George will not have to tinker so much. Sam Bone is ok as centre back, but would much rather see him in midfield.

Lucas is very good but his habit of wandering out his goal almost caught him out last night. Very lucky a shot from distance went straight at him as he backpedaled.

I thought Roarie looked like his best days were behind him. There was a lot of backchat between the players and the H&W bench and they didn't seem a very happy bnuch.
Roarie was one of four ex-stones in their line-up.....

No one's mentioned how short their keeper was...
