I tho k they expected to be walking the league and having a side ready for next season.
In a way, it makes sense to give a new man half a season to prepare for next years higher division. That’s a pretty arrogant approach though

I think that the new signing is the JP who played for us and Ebbsfleet. He had been at Eastbourne until recently. He joins the Paxman twins (Jack and Alfie) at Ramsgate. Could get confusing!

Marske United of the Northern Premier league need to find £120,000 or their days as a football club will be over. The supporters are blaming it on grossly overpaid players. Update : Marske Utd Fc have resigned from the NPL with immediate effect. The hope is to survive and rejoin the pyramid at a much lower level.

If they are is the money gonna run out and if not Tommy Hadler is my mate and “our” Jack Pax must have taken real jobs as well for when football comes to an end. Ramsgate certainly have got something going for them I’ve no idea what exactly!

Ramsgate do have money behind them now plus FA Cup winnings and TV money. They have big plans for the ground though the local residents may have something to say about that. I'm not sure what their average attendance is but I think it's at least 100% up on previous years and just like Chatham they are very much on the up whilst local rivals Margate are on a definite slide.

Alnwick Town have applied to join the pyramid system which,i think, would make them the most northerly club in the pyramid. Its a shame we shall never play them is Alnwick is a pub crawlers dream, has massive history and a castle that is every bit as good as Leeds Castle if not better. It has one of the biggest book shops in England which is built into the old disused railway station. The football ground is quite basic but plenty of room for improvements and is built on land owned by the Duke of Northumberland.

As you say swordy, Ramsgate (like Faversham) are very well monied at this level. With success, new supporters surface. So Ramsgate are averaging around 600+ and more if you include the 3,000 home attendance in the FA cup. Their big neighbour Margate, are in the doldrums by comparison, averaging gates a little over 500. Rumour has it that Ramsgate are paying between £300 and £450 a week for some senior players. Easy to understand how they attract some top players who can carry on with their day jobs.

That’s a pretty arrogant approach though I've just read that Faversham have a budget of £10,000 per week. That is an extraordinary amount for SECL level.

The backer will lose interest or run out of money and they'll plummet, eventually. See Dover, Kings Lynn, Daggers, soon Ebbsfleet.
