It's an interesting move because Joe is obviously much too good for that level. In the cost of living crisis I think we might see other players return to part time football so they can boost their earnings with second jobs. Something that might not just impact the Stones but all clubs where finances are tight but there is a preference to be full time. Would Joe have stayed at Maidstone if we were PT? ....maybe? Steve, was Joe your source re him leaving? Did he ask you to remove it from Facebook? Did he tell you which managers are being considered (you also mentioned this)

Thank you Joe for everything. Are there any others who unexpectedly found themselves full time in the National League who will now be quietly contemplating an escape route before the inevitable? A chance for the club to reduce the wage bill. Be interesting to see what level most of our squad are playing in a year or two. Indeed thanks Joe for being a huge part of winning the title, a fan’s favourite and a great NLS player who also gave NL a good go. The brickies do seem a bit of a big drop for such a good player and a bit of a shame as I’m sure he could do PT somewhere better but all the best to him. Maybe just short of being a Stones legend but will certainly be remembered!

I never saw the stuff Joe said about Hak, etc - was it on Twitter? If it was, that would be why, as I don't like or use Twitter - is it available anywhere else, or can someone give me the gist of what he said?

He accused Hak of physically and verbally abusing him and more or less said "good riddance." Someone did put a screen grab of it on here but I can't find it (it may have been removed). It was on Twitter but he deleted it - on January 6th he tweeted: "Forgot everyone in life is perfect and has never made a mistake before" which might be a reference to it - he probably got sanctioned by the club and told to take it down.

I think only 3 players publicly thanked Hak which says a hell of a lot bearing in mind they were title winners last season……….

Good signing for Ramsgate. Let’s be honest, he’s a bit of a prick Is he ? Why ? I can only think of Woodstone's comments relating to Joe arguing with fans after games at York and Needham Market (Although some will also add the game at Gateshead to the list), plus he seems to get aggrieved very quickly with comments on the Maidstone supporters facebook group and has jumped in with comments on there getting all defensive, if you're a professional or semi professional player you should not be engaging in stuff like that.

If you can believe anything on facebook, he's been appointed as 1st team manager of 'Grand Athletic fc', whoever they are.
