It was cringeworthy to be there and it was well over the line. You can’t expect the stewards to wade in a throw out fifty people. It’s be carnage. So the reality is if more than a few idiots decide to do what they like, we don't have the means to stop them? I just hope they don't have the collective brain cells to suss that out, othrwise where will it stop?

Idiots they are without a doubt, but most will be Stones supporters for better or for worse. Hopefully the reaction from officialdom and the warnings given will do the trick. If it doesn't lets not go there, but in truth I don't expect to hear that same stuff again.

So if we can’t control the behaviour of our fans, we need to design out the problem and have opposing fans in different stands. Otherwise this is going to keep happening, the fines are going to keep increasing, and one day they’ll shut us down. It’s more by luck than skill that minor incidents haven’t escalated into more serious trouble. Sooner or later something truly nasty is going to occur. This seems ironic, given the circumstances: news.maidstone.gov.uk/home/news/2023/december/white-ribbon-event-at-mufc

Why is it not a problem when a 1000 fans are shouting wanker to a player or ref?
Whys it not a problem when fans are shouting at a fan bald/fat/ginger/galasses wearing or any other abuse?
If fans of the opposition send abuse to the home fans, they will always be abused back.

Never argue with idiots. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Racism, rightly, came first and everything else is really just degrees of bullying and should also be addressed. Trouble is, it all stems from safety in numbers and sadly, the tribal elements among, some, football fans don't help. Proper separation of fans, ie away fans in the Town End, would undoubtedly help, but we've been through that...

I am assuming the young lady in question was white for if she were black it would have made a few front page headlines and probably a bigger fine.

"it will highlight 11 traits men and boys can nurture to help create a world of equality and safety for women" A good start would be bringing up our kids so that they don't think it's OK to shout mysogynistic abuse at women.

Interestingly the club has a relatively rare proactive attitude to abuse aimed at officials, I can't think of anywhere else in semi or professional sport where fans are cautioned in advance about that. Fans responding to abusive/banterous chants are often quite humourous. Leeds fans are targeted at home about Jimmy Saville being "one of our own". The retorts to this assertion are amusing albeit not on a family message board such as this

Couldn't have said it better myself. If it happens again, the club need to issue short term or season long bans depending on the situation. Sure these "lads" parents / siblings / grandparents, etc would love a transcript of what they're saying read aloud to them. Seen lots of 'you can't say anything these days' type posts in different places regarding this. I for one, and I'm sure you'll all agree, think that it's a sad sad day when we can't all collectively chant and humilate a woman in public about having an STD...

Would that make the ultimate horror greetings card? Noticed there was a big anti misogynistic poster on the main gate yesterday, though doubt if any of the morons could read it...
